I know we have lost the last 2 weeks, but I think we have possibly gained more respect from those 2 weeks than the previous 3 where we won easily.

Collingwood won the game, and deservedly so, but they were battered and bruised by the end, and people are slowly starting to talk about Brisbane in terms of their uncompromising attack on the ball again.

Again against Adelaide our tackling pressure was first rate, which is something that Leigh Matthews prides himself on. In both games we fell away, but I think as young players getter fitter, mentally and physically, they will be able to apply themselves for longer.

But as has been mentioned before, if we don't turn up against the dogs, any respect we have gained will probably be lost. At the start of the year I was fearing the day we meet the dogs. I am now looking forward to it, because it will be interesting to see if we can match their run. Injuries are no longer an excuse.

Simpsons reference?

In one of the Simpsons episodes they are shooting a scene for radioactive man, in which a vat of acid is poured over the hero, radioactive man.

For saftey reasons, cause they are using real acid, they give the actor playing radioactive man some safety goggles. When the acid is tipped and starts burning him he screams in a foriegn accent 'The goggles, they do nothing!'

You had to be there.....
