Ash did what appeared to be a mini fitness test after training tonight. Can't say whether he passed or failed. He did complete the rest of the sesh, btw.

Incidentally, Retz was having goal-kicking practice from ~45 out on various angles; reckon he dobbed about 12.4

He did seem to look sore in the groin area last week. Named up forward, perhaps Green might be his replacement?

Re: Crisp - at the risk of pulling the "footy dept knows better then us" bit, the players do all wear GPS, so they'd know better than anyone whether a rest might have been beneficial. Perhaps he stopped running as hard the other way.

We spectators do tend to put more weight on the offensive side of the game.

Here's an idea on how to resolve this argument/discussion. Let people have their opinions or make a statement. If you don't agree with it,give your own opinion back. If you don't agree with said opinion, you don't have to completely shut it down and talk to the person like they are a kindergartener and you are the teacher. Xoxo

That is what I did do? If you notice the person who I originally replied to did not seem to take it in a bad way that a few of you others are? Mickey127 does not seem to care at all. Why are you guys so adamant that I am trying to stop people from having an opinion and stop footy discussion:confused:

Great in theory but it never ends up that way.

You are in a community of many different people, being loud and obnoxious about your opinions is going to piss others off and things will get nasty.

Unfortunately the GPS' don't work under the roof at Docklands. Reading the article on the website earlier in the week though, he certainly seemed like he expected to play.

I don't find it hard to imagine his first few senior games have left him sore though. I reckon the overall strength of the group would be a consideration too. Strong bodies against a team like Collingwood are a must.

Surely Etihad should have fixed that by now. I know satillites can be finiky and whatnot (my grandfather (RIP-stinking cats supporter...) worked on them for years in Canberra) but surely they can stick a repeater or something in the roof so they have some sort of signal they can work off.

If it were a simple matter of signal strength, it would've been fixed long ago. You can get a basic location in there, but the only useful data for player management comes from live acquisition, so their movement can be tracked precisely. Full 3d acquisition requires 3 satellites locked on to triangulate a position. Reliable live tracking requires 4. The system relies on the time & position of each satellite in relation to those targets to lock down their position. Break up those angles and the whole thing rapidly becomes far less accurate.

The AFL would be wise to invest in developing a technology that mimics it in enclosed stadia though. Would make a fortune from licensing it internationally.

Couldn't the same effect be gotten using wireless, and having a few "satellites" up on the roof? You'd have to use different compatible GPS units on the players and it probably wouldn't be as reliable, but honestly, the idea is worth looking up. There are quite a few enclosed stadiums around the world that have teams playing that probably wouldn't mind using some sort of tracking.

Like I said, a system would need to be developed to mimic satellite triangulation. Trying to integrate it into the existing system would be adding an extra level of complexity. No doubt someone with expertise in the field will create a solution at some point. Don't really think Docklands management can be held responsible for it not having been done yet though.

Well, I'll give it a rest before we start leaking ideas all over bigfooty. 50/50 split on the profits? :D

All my feelings are pointing to a Lions win, but that could just be excitement from knowing tonight is gonna be unreal.

Well, why should Green be picked instead of Hawksley, and why do you think Voss, the head coach, who knows the players and the playing group, as well as what role they are to play in the game, has no clue ?

If this is directed at me I think you'll find i said none of these things and if i did then please prove me wrong.

Game time is nearly here, and even though I'm all fluey, I can't help but get a bit excited. Let's hear it for a massive upset.
Well this is the round for upsets so far.
