He wants more oppourtuntity by all accounts, what do you expect the club to do? Tether him to the goal posts? Good Jordan, sit, stay, good boy.

If he is under contract he is still a part of our club. He may want to leave because he isn't getting an opportunity but every player not in the 22 wants a shot at a regular spot, but you need to earn it. We need him for depth, and because of that we have to retain him. Its how the game is, players burn clubs all the time seeking trades or not renewing contracts to enter the draft, just because a player wants a chance else where doesn't necessarily mean we have to grant it. If he is good enough he can push Schoey, Gilly or Stratts out of their spots, if not he can stay at box hill for another year and seek his options then

The club has done an incredible job this trade period and I am sure that this deal will be no different.
Just wait until we see what the net result is before we get emotional and start passing judgement.

To me, two things seem likely as a result, 1) Picking Curran up in the draft (not F/Sing him has given us a lot more flexibility) and 2) Roughy likely to have a crack at CHB.

Regarding Lisle himself, thought he was a handy player, but to me seemed like he'd only ever be serviceable, at both ends of the ground. I wonder about his attitude as well, after getting a taste at the top level (finally) when he was dropped he never did anything, he should have been smashing it at BHH and giving 110%, but by all accounts he was pretty ordinary.

If a fresh start and more opportunities is available, it could be mutually beneficial, I welcome it.

I can only remember us holding one player against his will, I don't think breeding discontent amongst the players is worth the fuss for the benefits of some fringe depth. As long as we are adequately compensated we can move on and put our time into someone who wants to wear our hallowed colours.

I just think that one of the reasons we are such a great club is we always try and do right by the players, even when it hurts.

I was a Moose fan. Dropped off him mid season. He is a good uncontested mark and that is about it. Moose only has 1 AFL spot and that is FB. Got me buggared why he was not planted there and told to make the most of it.

Some may harp on about his closing speed, this theory may have been valid three years ago but the game has evolved.

Assuming that this deal goes ahead, can we reasonably expect anything more than pick 29 or 30. Can this be intertwined with the Mitch Clark deal and we can get more than 29 or 30, or is this asking to much.

For the record.......I think 29 will be about as best we get, but think Bris will offer us 30.

All of a sudden the depth of young talent (that impressed in the nab cup) is being dispensed. I can only hope this deal is to help bring another young prospect to the club.

Really disappointing. Great that Lisle will get more opportunity up there but I've got a feeling we're all going to rue the clubs decision. Happy to be proven wrong.

Couldn't get a regular game when our full back{Gillham} centre half back{Stratton}, and full forward{Roughead} were out injured!
Only played when Shoey was also out injured!
Out of contract
Hawks just recruited another tall{Gunston}
Hawks chasing another KPP{Gillies}
Of course he would seek other opportunities and obviously Hawks willing to trade him
I'd certainly back the Hawks over some whinging keyboard heros here as to our list going forward!

Disappointed. Not sure what the plan is if we are to lose him. As mentioned he is one of only a couple of actual tall defenders we have on our list and it just seems strange that we'd be willing to lose him. Obviously the boy wants some game time and really he probably should have been given more this year. Disappointing news but I really hope he gets a full time gig at the Lions and makes a name for himself.

Also, Lisle > Gillies as far as I'm concerned.

If it works out that we swap Lisle for 29 and Laddo for Boumann, then we've:

Added Gunston and Boumann

Lost Lisle, Renouf and Laddo

And have 29 and 33 in the draft before upgrading Breust.

I'd be very happy with that outcome.

Dissapointed but would like to see him get a regular game. Always had a soft spot for Lisle and backed him after he was drilled after his debut against Freo earlier in the year.

Not sure if this will be the end of our manouvering for the week or there is more action in store??

I agree on form, but the simple fact is that Lisle isn't getting a go at Hawthorn for whatever reason, he deserves better, he deserves to have a career
In saying that I hope we don't go after Gillies, he hasn't shown anything at VFL level to say he is going to be competent one on one KP defender for our club.....

I think it will be 30........the difference between 29 and 30 is nothing, but I think Bris will want to have their pick before the Hawks, so they will keep 29 and give us 30. Sounds about fair to me, but hoping we might be able to get a bit more for him......
