Suddenly our list thickens - forward depth feels solid.

Talls - Rat, Georgi, Marshall, Finlayson, Luko, Lord, Whitlock

Smalls - Rioli, DBJ, SPP, Richards, Berry, Charleston, Anastopolous, Mcentee.

Who will force their way in? Might put some pressure on Mead/Lorenz/Jackson if we go back to 7 forwards.

Key Defensive depth is non-existent unless you include Esava.
The clear weakness. Well, everywhere on the ground is not quite premiership quality but defense is the worst. Aliir on the wrong side of 30 too.

Our key forwards are as much of a worry as our key backs. We have quantity not quality. Two athletic development talls that may or may not make it and two marshmallows who will be good for a few goals against North but won't do anything when we need them to. Everything rests on Georgiades really, the next guy I trust is Finlayson and that says a lot.

If chris Scott was our coach , I think we wouldn't worry as much but this team is built for anti hinkley ball

It starts to get hard, when you actually try and fit everyone in. Play Drew and lose a small forward? F knows who to put on the wings/outside

FF Rioli Lord Georgi
HF Richards Luko DBJ

The intention is to only use Finlayson as a last resort option next season.

A trio of Luko, Georgiades and Lord in theory is quite dynamic and has the right profile balance. At the same time, if Ken expects to play the same gameplan as he has with Dixon and merely subbing Lord into that role, this forward line is going to be a schematic disaster.

Defensively I think they'll be fine. BZT and Aliir are the mainstay KPDs with Ratugolea as depth in the event one of the other two miss due to injury and/or suspension. Bergman and Jones can also play taller than their size in a pinch. It's not a position I'm terribly worried about going into this season tbh.

As long as we don’t panic and re-list Sam Skinner.

I don't rate Lukosius. Marshall likewise and he's got the added negative of the concussion problems. I like the way Lord plays and he's shown glimpses but he's also had many games where he's been close to invisible.

I'm not worried about the defenders either. None of those guys are going to win an All Australian guernsey but we don't need them to.

Lukosius might come good. I didn’t rate AhChee after his stint at Gold Coast but he has looked a different player at Brisbane.

Lord, Lukosius and Marshall have each got the next 2-3 years to really consolidate their places in our forward line alongside Georgiades before Whitlock should feasibly challenge for regular AFL footy. Hopefully a couple of them are up to it.

Does this mean Lord is working on his craft as a second ruck over the preseason? We can't be having Wines as regular ruck support next season.
This is a key point. If Finlayson is rightfully not going to be played much next year (and even if he is), we need a viable second ruck option who can play forward the rest of the time. Georgiades, Marshall and Lukosius can’t. Surely Ratugolea won’t be tried forward again. It has to be Lord or Visentini IMO.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I rate Visentini up forward. Would let him train there in preseason to work on his craft a bit but has good hands, crashes packs and neat set shot.

This is what I am hoping. We really need one of Lord/Visintini/Soldo to step up as that Forward/Ruck.

I think Soldo/Sweet makes us too slow though if we are playing the 3 other talls.

What do you mean Lukosius might come good? He is good lol. We have just recruited him as our #1 forward. Don't put him in the same sentence as Lord, Marshall etc. saying he needs to consolidate his spot. I can guarantee you he will be the first forward on the whiteboard come round 1.

How many times did the SUNS drop him this year? Was it 4?
