To me it won’t work like the Dees because neither JOM, Tom or Worpel are near the level of Petracca or Oliver when it comes to contested work.

Petracca is 1st in score involvements, 5th in CP’s and 10th in clearances. Oliver is 6th, 1st and 1st respectively in these categories across the league.

Combined they have more CP’s and clearances than our big 3 added together. Now the ruck difference might play a part. But those 2 have a contested game with their size and ball winning power our guys can’t match.

Tom wins a lot of the ball but it’s a lot more uncontested and way less hurt factor than these guys. He’s not physically blessed in the way these guys are able to just dominate contests.

Agree with this completely. Petracca and Oliver are absolute power athletes who clear contests and break tackles through explosive power. We don't have anyone in our midfield with that explosiveness (although I have hopes for newcombe).

I don't want to burst everyone's bubble but we will not be getting more than a 2nd rounder for a player that's 30 years old and only played 1 game this year, sorry.

A 2nd rounder is the absolute best we could hope for, and even then that's a little overs.

Yep Brissy would be a good landing spot. Unlike most Lions players Gunners is a big game player too (bees willy from getting the Norm in ‘13).

Bulldogs is another potential spot too if he wants to stay in Melb, he’s pretty good mates with Duryea IIRC. It would mean they have Naughton, JUH, Gunston and Bruce (back late next year) but Bevo could do something weird to make it work.

If they want Gunners that badly I'd be asking for pick 15 rather than 18. The last thing we'd need is doing a trade with them only to have them draft the player we want 3 picks earlier. He's contracted so if anyone wants him then they will just have to cough up or else he stays.

100%. We want him to stay and he’s under contract. A team pushing for a flag would surely just do the deal and move on.

Jesus, Gunston & Sicily all coming back from pretty serious injuries.

Jesus has proven to recover well from what others would consider 'career ending injuries' - we just gotta hope that Sicily & Gunston can recover as well.
