I would take the Pedo way before McGuane but I wouldnt give up much at all for him. McGuanes name being bandied around by the tigers faithful has provided me numorous girly giggles throughout this period!

Also slightly confused by the fred swift person above complaining about a pick 8 & jessie o'brien. Pick 8 is more than enough, o'bien was meant to be a little sweetener. (whoever he is)
The point is both are nothing more than depth. So depends what area of your depth needs bolstering I guess.

Hi all,

I've been doing a review of each team, Looking at their best 22, Draft picks each team has, Players they are rumoured to be interested in and Possible trades that could get it done. This is just my opinion but would like to hear everyone's opinion about each team or any other thoughts about possible trades that could occur.

Let's start with Essendon

My Essendon Best 22
FB: Fletcher, Carlise, Hardingham
HB: Hibbard, Hurley, Dempsey
C: Heppell, Watson, Stanton
HF: Zakarakis, Ryder, Melksham
FF: Davey, Crameri, Winderlich
FOLL: Bellchambers, Hocking, Howlett
INT: Myers, Browne, Colyer, Baguley (r)

Others
Davis, Dyson (f/a), Gumbleton, Hille (f/a), Hooker, Kavanagh,
Longergan, Lovett-Murray, Merrett, Monfries (f/a), O'Brien, Pears,
Prismall, Reimers, Ross, Slattery (f/a), Steinberg,
Dalgleish (r), Dell'Olio (r), Hunter (r).

(Some people might be surprised about a couple of players, but seems Essendon is committed to playing Hurley down back which probably means Hooker is going to be on the out. Bellchambers becomes Number 1 ruck as Essendon would need Ryder up forward unless they can get another forward or until Daniher develops)

Retirements
McVeigh

Delistings
Lee (r)
Long (r)

Draft Picks
10 (F/S - Daniher), 32, 50, 68 & 86

Free Agents
Monfries (Very Likely Port Adelaide)
Lovett-Murray
Dyson
Hille
Slattery

Possible Trade Bait
Bellchambers - Unlikely unless GWS really showed they wanted him or there was a three way deal involving him to GWS, Giles to Collingwood & Dawes & a player / pick to Essendon
Davey - GWS or Melbourne are possibilities
Gumbelton - Freo looking very likely unless another team can come up with a better offer at the 11th hour
Hooker - Possibly part of a trade for Caddy
Lonergan - Possibly part of a trade for Caddy or with GWS
Pears - Couple of clubs interesting though one unamed club has said no. Would Richmond give up either pick 29 or 31 for him.
Reimers - Possible part of a trade with West Coast (Stevens) or Fremantle (Ibbotson)

Possible Recruits / Trades
Goddard - Free Agent
Moloney - Free Agent
Caddy - Hooker & Early Draft Pick (Maybe Hooker and 2 2nd Round Picks could get it done)
Pearce - Essendon need outside run and could possible offer that
Toy - They might look at him part of the Caddy deal
Stevens - Unlikely though part of a Reimers or Gumbleton trade is possible
Ibbotson - Same as Stevens
Hickey - Seem to be interested in him (Only could see it getting done part of a favourable Caddy deal)
Sylvia - Name seems linked to the Bombers each season (Under Contract so would have to take something good for Melbourne to become interested, though has less currency then last season)

My Possible Essendon Best 22 (After Trades / Free Agency)
FB: Fletcher, Carlise, Hardingham
HB: Heppell, Hurley, Dempsey
C: Goddard, Watson, Stanton
HF: Zakarakis, Ryder, Caddy
FF: Daniher , Crameri, Winderlich
FOLL: Bellchambers, Hocking, Moloney
INT: Melksham, Howlett, Colyer, Hibbard

Welcome any thoughts about Essendon...
No way Belly is leaving. And I rate Lonergan but would part ways if to secure Caddy

So what's the game plan when you have a mid playing FB? OK I know what you mean but let me put it this way. If yo had 22 Chris Judds , or 22 Gary Abletts do you think thats the perfect side.

Anyway back on track. What's the chance of Hawks look at few more trades now. Do you think they may be interested in a couple of ball winners or perhaps an extra backman all Free Agents of course

We will try again with Tom Gillies. Whether it's at the trade table or if Geelong ends up delisting I'm not to sure? But i can assure you we will make a play for him. Would make a good 2nd-3rd tall. Plus an outside midfielder with pace is also another we will try and solve.

Yes that probably his best role. Im still not convinced we will delist him. We may but Im not sure its a lock.
If you trade what are you thinking P3 something like that?

Outside mid with pace. Anyone in mind. Really haven't got heap like that Geelong so can't help you (Byrnes look gone Melb)

Best bet is to take a Simpson in the draft.

We already have too many 2nd-3rd talls!!
Also I think a more pressing concern is our lack of young inside mids

Would have O'Brien ahead of Colyer and Baguley ahead of Licka.

Who would you have as the sub?

Pick 8 and Polec?!? That would be massive overs

I think the only time that package has been seriously suggested it's actually been 8 and Polec for Tippett and 19, or 8 and 23 for Tippett and 40.

Or just not a gambling addict.

Or one with better things to do than bet about Cam Pedersen's future.

Mature rookie listed utility, undersized in the ruck, has played 16 games.

Yep, I'll give up a good pick in a super draft!

HFF: 'Nobody is going to give up pick 30 for Pederson'

FD: 'O rly? What odds?

HFF: 'Um, well, I, gee, I mean, I wasn't being serious, I don't do odds, I don't know a great deal...'
