Lloyd gone.

Not probably. Must.

He had opportunity to tackle and Sewell had his head over the ball. 5-10 years ago we would all have said "fair bump" and moved on. Cuz had a red mark on his neck, Sewell has a shiner.

And let's not forget the deeming provisions. A "reasonable" action doesn't allow you to skate through. The outcome is what counts now.

But if Buddy gets two weeks, then this is 3-4 weeks. Simple. What is left of the credibility of the AFL tribunal is on the line.

I am bemused as to why Lloyd must get more weeks than Franklin.

Both Cousins and Sewell were concussed which suggest forceful contact.

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Let's just say the AFL got the result they obviously wanted......and they played no small part in making it happen - either through the week or on the day.

You mean like the 50m they paid against Fletcher in the first after a 10m kick? The umpires lost the plot today but they had nothing to do with result. When Sewell went down you had control of the game and the change in the game had nothing to do with the umpires. Your team lost focus and started hearing footsteps.

Can we assume by your comment that last year's flag was the result the AFL "obviously wanted"?

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

The players that took a step backward were your senior players.

Who exactly are you referring to. IMO I thought they all gave it the best possible shot they could, but I would be interested to hear which Essendon kids made senior hawk players shit themselves.

Don't you realise Jeff, it's all a conspiracy. The AFL actually hate Hawthorn and everything they stand for.

Good hit. Won the fight. Won the game. Great day. Haven't read the thread but wonder what stance the Hawks fans have.

No.... all we can assume is that you talk more shit than they deal in at Werribee. Kepp banging on with the hearing footsteps line though. Isn't true....but you like it. We lost the plot, no doubt - but no examples of hearing footsteps and simply more bullshit posting from you to suggest otherwise.

Not unexpected though, as you are simply a bullshit poster.

Good luck to the Saints.

Well Kennett is their president.

Quite understandable really. :)

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

Looked more of a collision than a bump to me. I don't reckon Lloyd could have done anything to avoid it.

I started reasding the 7-8 pages of stuff in this thread and all of the comments people had made and naturally thought that whatever Lloyd did, it must have been bad.

Upon looking at that Youtube viision, as much as I wish there was more to it, I have to agree with this poster.

It wasn't intentional at all, it certainly was accidental. There was no malice in the collision.

I reckon Lloyd won't have a case to answer and if he does, then this game has gone just about lost me for good.

I have no preference for the guy just like a number of opposition supporters but even with that bias, I can see that it wasn't a king-hit or something more sinister. Just like Franklin last week, a player could be suspended for merely competing.

It's not ideal that Sewell got knocked out and I trust his health is good but I'd reckon even he wold suggest there was nothing in it apart from an accidental hit.

Free kick and possibly 50m penalty is all that it warranted.

For consistency's sake, they should be 100% in defence of Lloyd.

I don't think it was anyone in particular.

Hawthorn went from dominating the game to fumbling, bumbling & looking over their shoulder.

Watch the replay. It was a classic case of a team taking a backward step after a player went down.

Plenty of huff & puff but no heart for the contest.

Reckons he is real tough doesn't he?:D

Got showed up as the weak fraud that he is:thumbsu::)

Not sure what was more embarrassing. The finger pointing at the Essendon bench, the bitch slap or the fact he kept his huff and puff going AFTER the game.

Christ, can Hawthorn make this bloke captain?

The bloke's a natural leader.

Speaking of such, Mitchell wasn't much better.

The same stance you had all week on the hawk board

Head is sacrosant, hit was to the head - Lloyd is gone. Difference is Lloyds hit will be increased from medium to high and will receive a few extra weeks.

Does anyone other than hypocritical Hawthorn supporters really care if Lloyd gets done?

Personally I though it was a simple collision between two players but it wouldn't surprise me if the AFL reacted simply because someone got hurt.

End of the day though, who cares?

Essendon are in finals and Lloyd in his current form is no great loss.

Are you suggesting they were hearing footsteps JD?

And for consistency's sake Lloyd will have to be rubbed out also.
No doubt.

But I fully expect Hawks fans to maintain their position from last week and argue that a suspension is not warranted.

Well, then again, maybe not ...........:D

Certainly not Brown. He'll run the other way ... or he'll just slap like a little bitch!

Haha, is that the reason Lloyd is scared of the 177cm Brown?

As he stated, lloyd is the biggest sniper in the game. Hope he doesn't get done thoug, i find it funny how shit he is.

Lloyd 1 flag
Renouf 1 flag

Won't hurt the bombers, lloyd did nothing all day, I don't think the hawks took a backward step - if you look all year, once teams get momentum against hawthorn, we just cant stop them piling on the goals, and we just conceed entry into the forward 50 way to easy and leave too many men unmarked...once the bombers got some run and ball they were always capable of getting quick goals

Lloyd will go, and given the Franklin precendant and the current rule he deserves to. For mine though the difference between the two (only had the one viewing) was that it appeared that Sewell fumbled the ball and didn't take possession of it, meaning Lloyd was not able to tackle him, doubt this will save him, but that is what I would be arguing.

What I find hilarious was the reaction of the Hawks players, there is flying the flag and then there is losing all focus and going after all out vengance. The Hawks and in particular their senior players lost focus and were concentrating so much on getting back at Lloyd that they forgot to they were there to win a game of football.

I find it hilarious that supposed tough men like Brown, Batemen and Lewis took such offence at a hit that was so similar to Franklin's last week, which they've spent all week sooking about the fact it cost him a suspension.

What was particularly hilarious was Campbell Brown's post match comments that Lloyd is the biggest sniper in the league. How ironic, ever heard of the saying 'the pot calling the kettle black' because I reckon it somes up this situation pretty ****ing well.

The Hawks have a team full of blokes who play the game right on the edge of the rules and often step over the line. For a team who thrives on their "unsocialable football" (ie full of cheap shots) their sooking and whinging about this incident is nothing short of laughable.

Just proves the whingey, sooking, soft, bitches can dish it out, but can't take it back.

Re: Matthew Loyd Gone

I'm not suggesting it - I'm saying it!

Funniest thing I've seen all year from the kings of the huff & puff.

The president is full of it, never backs up his threats.

The coach is that brave he takes a shot at an official from his own club (and we all know what sort of sniper he is).

And now we have Campbell "wait until I see you next year" Brown finger pointing and then running like a coward.

The "Drive-By" Hawks. :D

you sooky, teary princess.

You do realise the Tribunal are independent of the AFL, don't you?

And do you think the umpires cheated, do you?

It's all a conspiracy!!!!!
