I like JJ. But getting severe Luke Walton 2.0 PTSD. First time head coach - what could go wrong?

At least there’s another scapegoat ready :$

Sounds like JJ has arrived as coach of Lakers following a similar path as Pat Riley 45 years ago. Hopefully he can be just as successful.

Pat Riley hosted a podcast 45 years ago?!

I said similar, Chad. Anyway, what is a Celtics supporter doing posting in the Lakers Thread, that should result in an immediate suspension.

Reddick was recently a Broadcaster and Analyst on ESPN before getting the Lakers job, while Riley was a Broadcaster and Analyst (and sometimes comedic sidekick) alongside the legendary Chick Hearn, the greatest announcer is USA sporting history. Lakers Coach Jack McKinney had a near fatal accident about 13 games into the 1979/80 and was unable to continue and was replaced by Paul Westhead, and he hired Pat Riley to be his assistant. It was actually McKinney who laid the foundation for "Showtime" basketball that would win 5 titles in the 1980's.

First win on opening night since 2016.

I had very low expectations heading into this season, but it was a dominant performance against a strong team.

AD was an absolute monster. We all know what he can do on defense but he is the key to this team and it's about time we played through him on offense.

Played with great tempo but protected the ball and barely turned it over. Movement was nice. Shot selection was largely good though Reaves struggled at times.

Willingness to shoot the 3 ball was also refreshing. Didn't convert well but keep them coming, they will fall.

Rui was fantastic. I am a big fan.

Just the one game, but I am interested...
