He surely walks if they don’t win at least 6 games next year

Drafted in 2017,

He has a winning record against one team in his career (3-1 vs Richmond)

He’s never won a game at the mcg

He’s never beaten 5 different clubs
NMFC should match and then demand from Collingwood 2025 R1+R2 2026 R1 + R2 2027 R1 +R2 for LDU + 2025 R3, 2026 R3, 2027 R3 shake hands and go get 'em.

Would you still take him to finish 7th-10th?

We dont have a 2025 R1 and can't trade any other picks (unless you get a pick in the same round back) in 2025 plus we need points to match a bid for mcguane We wont' be trading any picks next year. But 2026 and 2027 would be on the board.

I suspect he stays anyway.

He seems a loyal type hopefully you retain him

A lot depends on how we go next year, we have people on our board that claim to be itk, and that he’s fully committed to stay, but I imagine if we have another terrible year it would be tempting to move to a premiership contender.

Personally, I look at it like, he’s a senior prayer now, so he should be one of the players driving North out of the bottom half of the ladder…so imo it’s on him and others in his age bracket that need to set the standard and pull North out of the mud.

I know its never happened, but if it came down to it, North should match any bid.

Minimum 2 first rounders would be their return. Probably some steak knives too.

For what its worth. i think he stays long term.

Even though it has? Jeremy Cameron was matched

Debating over whether or not North would match isnt really worth the time. If North have another terrible season and LDU decides to take up the option of free agency to go to a club that’s a premiership contender contender, North would obviously be better off with FA compo, because a club that is in premiership contention would most likely have late first round picks.

The better option for North would be to take the compo pick in that situation, and even though it’s unlikely he leaves, that would be the only scenario..its not like he’d gamble and go to a club that’s middle of the table that would have the picks to satisfy a trade.

mmm I have followed the AFL long enough to know there is no rule, it would just need to be signed off by HQ.

They would do some gorilla math between themselves - which would be LDU into Collingwood = ? BOS (bums on seats) and Collingwood (season 2025 relevant again for a period of time).

They be happy to tick it off. Nothing would make them happier, I'd have thought.

Probably guarantees them a bonus.

Atleast North would get a top 5-7 pick as a compo if he did decide to leave

But i think its going to take alot of cash to keep him if north dont improve massively

Could become 1 of the highest paid players in the comp

The MCG isn’t a thing only playing just over a handful of games there.
