What's the recourse though? Even if Jackson would be willing to go to either draft, he's not getting to us.

No doubt Melbourne still think he is worth at least pick 3 and we don't have that and can't get it without moving on quality players.
Correct. Of course Jackson is still worth pick 3. we're not going to accept 2 glorified early 2nd rounders for Jackson. 1 pick needs to be close to top 5. otherwise, the trade won't get done. Happy to let him go for nothing. Freo are so keen on Jackson that they've lose their bargaining power also. You can't offer a guy 900k over many years and then try to play it cool.

Mate, no point in trying the hard sell on me, I don't want him.

You keep saying 900k when the reported value is closer to 700k.

That's fine. I don't want pick 16 and 17. And let's not talk about hard selling when freo fans are trying to convince people that Griffin Logue and Lobb are worth 1st round picks. double standards. Especially after Logue's game on the weekend.

I'd take Lobb though. but for a 2nd rounder.

I don't blame you for wanting plenty. I don't see how we get it for you but fair play for having a crack.

Unfortunately you are wrong, Freo and Melbourne will get a deal done as the only other alternative is the PSD and no one wants that. When it comes to bargaining it is Jackson that wants to leave Melbourne and come home he is OOC and Freo have put together a very attractive offer.

Jackson’s limited time on ground could also be attributed to the injury he had in round 23. Not sure but guessing it could be.

Hes pretty clearly been carrying an for the best part of the last 8 weeks.

I agree that a deal will get done. But if Melbourne aren't happy with the offer then the ball isn't in freo's court. They've shown their hand, they're desperate to get Jackson. Desperate. They'll have to find a way to improve their draft hand.

well yeah, if I'm the dees list manager I'm asking for a lot more than we'll get. My starting offer is 3 firsts, knowing full well that it'll come back to 2. I wouldn't be starting at 2 firsts. Let alone 2 extremely late firsts which mean we miss out on all of the elite talent in both of the drafts.

Disagree that Freo are desperate. Think this is more of an opportunity to good to miss rather then us desperately chasing him.

Not true.

One club and heaps of fans would love him to enter the PSD.

According to those in the know it is a very even draft this year. You could throw a blanket over 20 blokes. A late first rounder is nothing to be sneezed at. (next year might be a different story).

And the other Perth team has matched it. With better picks to trade.

Pony up or miss out.

Simple.

They say that at every draft. "it's really even after the first 5 picks". A late first rounder has a 60% fail rate based on 10 years of data across all of the clubs. It's is not worth all that much.
