Trade Requested Luke Parker - Wants to hop over to Arden St

Luke Hodge & 44 were traded for 43 & 75... so would think pick 62 is fair for Parker.

Pick 62 will move into the mid 50's once all the Academy & Father Son picks are used up.

You guys asked for pick 25, that is just nonsense. If you prefer future picks, just say so. We'll be able to work something out, there is no need for the silly games.
Silly games are when a club takes an opportunity & approaches a player when because he is working his way back via the twos from injury & form & throws a carrot of 3 years at him.
You planted the seed & started the action then offer an offensive pick 62.
If we counter offered with a request for 25 then kudos to the Swans. We still have our player & you have ……….um……..Jack Darling who is 32 & done.

We planted the seed in fertile ground. You guys phased him out of the midfield this year, giving him minor roles before saying goodbye to him at your b & f. He wasn't a significant part of your plans this season, and would have been less so next.

I'm not sure how pick 62 is offensive? It is similar to what players in similar situations have gone for in the past.

The trade will likely get done for some exchange of current and future third and fourth rounders. It could have been resolved in half an hour, instead Sydney made a ridiculous ambit claim then departed without even any sort of sensible discussion on whether they preferred current or future picks. You guys are normally professional, this was childish.

I guess we'll see.

But he's not in your future plans. If he was he wouldn't be requesting a trade. Don't pretend we're somehow trying to poach a required player.

62 is only similar to players that are 2-3 years older that went to a club for 1-2 years not 3. The most recent example is Gunston who went for 48 and a F4 which is much closer to the value Parker has

And it could well end up something like that. Would you guys use a late pick this year? I thought our F3 +/- something would be of more interest for points next year.

We would use Pick 44 or we would use a F3 but it has to be one of the 3rds its pretty simple
One of those should be involved. But our trades are rarely as simple 1 pick for 1 player. There is always some other shuffling of late picks for the sake of it.

At a guess, something like F3, F4 > Parker, F3, F4 or 44 + F4 > Parker, 59 + F4. Anyway, it should be an easy and amicable one. Not sure why you guys chose to begin it as you have.

I don't think Sydney will give up 59 because they need safety to match Cochran. Therefore i think it will be either:
1. 44
2. F3
3. F3 + F4 for Parker F3 F4

PARKER DEAL HANGS IN THE BALANCE

TALKS over Luke Parker remain at a standstill going into the trade period's final day, with North Melbourne yet to raise its offer for the Sydney veteran.

The Kangas' opening bid of pick No.62 for Parker was knocked back by the Swans in the opening days of the trade period, with the club demanding something far more significant for the contracted midfielder.

The two clubs have been yet to find a middle ground for Parker, with North Melbourne's attentions divided by the club's chase for Port Adelaide star Dan Houston and Western Bulldogs utility Caleb Daniel.

How close to cooked is Parker

Sydney traded Hannebery to St Kilda (for peanuts) but the guy was so broken he hardly played another decent game
Would say anything other than a pinch hit in the midfield and the rest forward is the best that North can get out of him. Isn't like the midfielders of today but can still go in there to provide grunt and stop moment if a team goes on a run
