Doubt I’ll watch this season. Never thought I’d say that, but I can’t see us being remotely competitive and I can’t be bothered watching clubs who have done zero hard work leapfrog us.

I'll still watch but will be like this when an expansion team wins the flag and we are not even making finals.

It’s difficult to get fully invested … I understand the players go for their best interests, bri davey left now madd & gg
It’s too all over place at the moment

We need to keep in mind that some of the clubs' attitudes to the women's program is NOT where the players would like it to be. In some clubs - the VFL players get priority over the women, so they can't even use the gym or train on particular days. Covid had a big impact on their fixtures and their training schedules were all over the joint, which impacted on their day jobs. When choosing their club the women have to take into consideration family, study and employment commitments and how the moves or non-moves might impact on their future career prospects. They're playing two seasons in one year for **** sake!

It's a very different landscape to the men's game.

Once all of the clubs are established, and the women are full time, things will change. Loyalty will come.

That is well put but they are in danger of losing a decade of Carlton AFLW fans, and potentially the same as other foundation clubs are gutted.

It's not on the players but the system and the competition.

And clearly something is wrong (at Carlton) behind the scenes...

No compensation....what?

How can you care about AFLW with this amateur rubbish. They haven't moved from Nunawading to Box Hill. This is meant to be a professional competition and we deserve compensation for this. Let me guess the expansion clubs will get top picks in the draft while foundation clubs get raided and then scraps.

So if players dont like Harford, then why would we sign him. I dont think this club is professional at all with him leading it. Shows how much Carlton values the AFLW program, as I dont think they are treating it seriously. We lose players every year. What are we going to do?

Loyalty only exists in the mens comp as a vestige to what the VFL used to be. Kids might long to play for their club, but once you put the jumper on you're an employee and you owe your employer only the services they pay you for.

Loyalty's an anachronism, especially when we wish it wasn't.

Marc Murphy deserves way more from Carlton fans than he gets.

Can’t disagree with your post because that is the administration’s and womens league reality . Maybe pay your fighters : players . . A UFC problem when they risk it all for 18 k and up against a billion dollar industry. Governing bodies are creating problems not solving them . AFLW should have been professional from that opening Carlton v Collingwood game. Just my opinion.

The clubs don't even know the draft or compensation information yet

If we don’t get draft compensation or a “more than” adequate trade for Prespakis it’s a travesty.

There are some very good girls available in the Under 18s this year and if Essendon are allowed to pillage senior AFL talent from other clubs without those clubs being allowed to trade back in the first round it’s dead set shithouse

Also this is Aaron Hamill level shit - so if we end up with Luke Livingston and Sam Cranage at the end of all this I’ll spew up!!!!
