Its a total disgrace that we have current players singing that song and laughing..they basically gave the whole Carlton community the bird. Ive been a supporter of the team going 2 over 80% of their games from
Day one. Until the club sanction those involved I no longer recognise the program. Every week they ask us to support and learn out all these things that are important to them but they couldn't give a stuff to learn about the community they represent when they put on the navy blue. Singing that

We need to keep in mind that some of the clubs' attitudes to the women's program is NOT where the players would like it to be. In some clubs - the VFL players get priority over the women, so they can't even use the gym or train on particular days. Covid had a big impact on their fixtures and their training schedules were all over the joint, which impacted on their day jobs. When choosing their club the women have to take into consideration family, study and employment commitments and how the moves or non-moves might impact on their future career prospects. They're playing two seasons in one year for fu** sake!

It's a very different landscape to the men's game.

Once all of the clubs are established, and the women are full time, things will change. Loyalty will come.

Be too late by then in my opinion,some clubs may not last.
The Blues losing Maddi and Gee will cost the club big time. These two players alone "got bums on seats" at games and membership sales.

MP and GG leaving is terrible, no doubt. But the real kick in the teeth is going to be zero compensation for the loss of one excellent and one skillful but inconsistent player. The f**king 'stains are going to come into the competition with a squad that is almost as good, if not better than ours, an AFLW foundation club.

Personally, I don't think expansion will dilute the talent pool as much as some seem to think. Looking at the competition over the last couple of years, the improvement in teams seems to be driven by the new/young players coming in, more than established players and cross-coders getting better.

If we had access to that talent pool to replace these players then that would at least be something, but we're locked out of that avenue as well because of the ridiculous draft concessions of the expansion teams ...
