Interesting to hear that both Adam Balzan and Peter Egan Jr are running for the Presidency out at Bushy Park. Who would be favourite there?

Well stated Wonker, couldnt have said it better myself. The club has decided to take a new path and not tolerate mediocrity or troublesome players who aren't happy with the playing environment. Only time will tell if the right decision has been made, but if pre season is any indication, the club is on the right track with great numbers and a lot more interest from supporters and sponsors in comparison to recent seasons. This is also supported by the better prospects recruiting wise through the appointment of new coaching staff for the 07 season.

All is on the up for the Bulldogs.

All I can say so far is that Saturday's result has far exceeded our early expectations. The club chartered a course at the start of the year to make the final five - on the way it was extremely lucky to pick up a fine young couple in Tony and Brooke Bellenger. The young kids stuck with the club. A couple of experienced players were recruited and the club finds itself in a grand final. Next Saturday will be a huge ask to be able to match it with the talent and experience of Harcourt. Only time will tell either way.

Well done to Avoca on Saturday. Easily the best side and I think have a legitimate chance to knock off Harcourt. Harcourt the favourites though!

Talbot had their vote count today. Matt Smith took it out and was a deserving winner. Matt & Nath Bond tied for runner up.

Darren Hansen took out the reserves. 3 way tie runner up in Steve Larkin, Aidan Matthews and Darren Burns.

Also heard a few Brook boys are in trouble after the wkend! Apparently a few of them have started up some local bus tours around Maryborough!

I would like to congratulate Avoca FNC on their efforts this year to get into the Grand Final. They have worked hard to get themselves back in to competitive situation and have done it very well. Its something that we all need to work on so we can keep improving the standard of this league. Avoca deserve their opportunity to play in this weekends grand final.

Thanks LTM. With blokes like you at the helm I'm sure that Carisbrook will come back bigger and better next year.

The difference between the 2 teams? Pilgrim.

There have been a lot of question marks over Pilgrims value to Avoca and he stood up on the wkend. Hopefully he can reproduce this form against Harcourt! Would be nice to see someone knock off Harcourt in all honesty.

The 2s would also be a great story if Trentham knocked off Brook as they have come from nowhere. I expect Brook to be far too strong though!

Hmmm yes interesting this one Rich. The brook boys going on a bit of a joyride I here!!! Is this true?

Well done to Sherman on his win, good effort mate.

If this is true I just hope for the sake of the boys and their families that non of the ex Avoca players are involved. If true it would only serve to reinforce that the action the Avoca club took some time ago in asking them to shape up or ship out was the right one. Let's hope for those involved that this is not the case.

Pilgs did play a blinder. Possibly could have had 10 next to his name if he took a few of the overhead marks he dropped on the lead. Good game by Pilgy and should have shut a few of the knockers up.

Unfortunately if he goes missing in the Granny the knockers will come back out in full force! Good luck to the kid in the Granny!

Avoca played a really good brand of football on Saturday... Skills let them down at times but always looked to have Brooks measure. If their backline to curb the influence of Sean Smith, Stone & Blake this week it will go a long way to winning. Should be a good grandfinal.

One thing Avoca should be concerned with is the lack of discipline they showed late in the game. A few got sent off for fighting, even though the game was all but over and Hamilton hit Nathan Wright after a shot on goal.

They're not the sort of actions you would expect from a playing group that is going into a grand final. Lucky no numbers were taken.

Found out a bit more as the day progressed. Apparently it was a bus from the Highland Society. I know that the league is concerned as the Highland Society is one of its major sponsors.

The only question I would ask in the defence of the Carisbrook club is at what point of time on a weekend do players stop being the responsibility of the club and become responsibe for their own actions.

I'm still not 100% sure who the players were that were involved as there are many conflicting reports circulating around Maryborough at the moment.

Apparently so the story goes - Some brook boys who shall remain nameless were refused service at the Highland society. When they left the courtesy bus had keys in it so they jumped in for a joyride and dumped it out the front of the cop shop (no idea why). Apparently they are in trouble tho.

Obviously league wouldn't be happy with the Highland Society being their major sponsor but Wonker raises a good point. Carisbrook cannot possibly keep an eye on all their players 24/7. Be interesting to see what comes of this in the coming days/weeks.

Yeah was a good win by avoca. Hey how good was that mark by young eddo? Marc Robins on Saturday? Does that kid have a future? Anyone know how he polled in B&F. Saw a few of his game and he stood out just need some confidence? Would he go into MB and play at a higher level?

The people i feel for, are troy driscoll and his hard working commitee at carrisbrook.
Just like every other club they bust there guts to raise the money to put a team on the field every week.Apparentley in this case, pay match payments every week to these blokes, and this is the way they repay all the hard work.I hope these blokes realize its not just about them (but i doubt it) imo_Ofcourse the public will see them as representing there club it was a saturday night after footy.IN FRONT OF THE COP SHOP that should tell you what your dealing with.

Sense of humour you say, by no means am i putting down any ones footy club,I think i might understand the driver a little better than you m s, as i have played footy with him for many years, not just six months.I think he is a great bloke, but what is it going to take for him to realize his actions one day might cost some one or himself there lifes.God forbid, what if while driving from highland to cop shop he crashed into someone you loved, would it still be a "a funny joke" Have we learned anything from the terrible accident earlier in the year ? I hope so
