Interesting to hear that both Adam Balzan and Peter Egan Jr are running for the Presidency out at Bushy Park. Who would be favourite there?
Peter Egan Jnr $1.40
Adam Balzan $2.80
Would like to see balzy do it tho.
Well stated Wonker, couldnt have said it better myself. The club has decided to take a new path and not tolerate mediocrity or troublesome players who aren't happy with the playing environment. Only time will tell if the right decision has been made, but if pre season is any indication, the club is on the right track with great numbers and a lot more interest from supporters and sponsors in comparison to recent seasons. This is also supported by the better prospects recruiting wise through the appointment of new coaching staff for the 07 season.
All is on the up for the Bulldogs.
Well done to Avoca on Saturday. Easily the best side and I think have a legitimate chance to knock off Harcourt. Harcourt the favourites though!
All I can say so far is that Saturday's result has far exceeded our early expectations. The club chartered a course at the start of the year to make the final five - on the way it was extremely lucky to pick up a fine young couple in Tony and Brooke Bellenger. The young kids stuck with the club. A couple of experienced players were recruited and the club finds itself in a grand final. Next Saturday will be a huge ask to be able to match it with the talent and experience of Harcourt. Only time will tell either way.
I would like to congratulate Avoca FNC on their efforts this year to get into the Grand Final. They have worked hard to get themselves back in to competitive situation and have done it very well. Its something that we all need to work on so we can keep improving the standard of this league. Avoca deserve their opportunity to play in this weekends grand final.
The difference between the 2 teams? Pilgrim.
Talbot had their vote count today. Matt Smith took it out and was a deserving winner. Matt & Nath Bond tied for runner up.
Also heard a few Brook boys are in trouble after the wkend! Apparently a few of them have started up some local bus tours around Maryborough!
Hmmm yes interesting this one Rich. The brook boys going on a bit of a joyride I here!!! Is this true?
If this is true I just hope for the sake of the boys and their families that non of the ex Avoca players are involved. If true it would only serve to reinforce that the action the Avoca club took some time ago in asking them to shape up or ship out was the right one. Let's hope for those involved that this is not the case.
There have been a lot of question marks over Pilgrims value to Avoca and he stood up on the wkend.
Pilgs did play a blinder. Possibly could have had 10 next to his name if he took a few of the overhead marks he dropped on the lead. Good game by Pilgy and should have shut a few of the knockers up.
Unfortunately if he goes missing in the Granny the knockers will come back out in full force! Good luck to the kid in the Granny!
Avoca played a really good brand of football on Saturday... Skills let them down at times but always looked to have Brooks measure. If their backline to curb the influence of Sean Smith, Stone & Blake this week it will go a long way to winning. Should be a good grandfinal.

Found out a bit more as the day progressed. Apparently it was a bus from the Highland Society. I know that the league is concerned as the Highland Society is one of its major sponsors.
The only question I would ask in the defence of the Carisbrook club is at what point of time on a weekend do players stop being the responsibility of the club and become responsibe for their own actions.
I'm still not 100% sure who the players were that were involved as there are many conflicting reports circulating around Maryborough at the moment.
The people i feel for, are troy driscoll and his hard working commitee at carrisbrook.
Just like every other club they bust there guts to raise the money to put a team on the field every week.Apparentley in this case, pay match payments every week to these blokes, and this is the way they repay all the hard work.I hope these blokes realize its not just about them (but i doubt it) imfcourse the public will see them as representing there club it was a saturday night after footy.IN FRONT OF THE COP SHOP that should tell you what your dealing with.
Luke Treacey won Brook's B & F for season 2007
good effort by the lad, from what i have seen is a talented player who deserves the award, most of all seems like a top bloke.....who was runner up, how did chipper go??? did he come home with a charge....
