Word has it that hard man Noel Jacobs _( Nattee) will be at Dunolly next year in a coaching role. The big fella was a bit slow this year in the Lexton Plains League however, from a good source he's on a big fitness campainge. Good chance Jacobs will call on a few players from his coaching days as closer to Bendigo. Will only assist Dunolly with further new's that the local butcher may give it one more go also. Dunolly looking for big results in 2008.

That's good news for Dunolly if true. A lot of talented kids out there would perform very well for an experienced campaigner.

News out of Bushy Park. Favoured son Mick Noonan might be off to the Maryborough Magpies. Will hurt Bushy as he is always in there best few and wins alot of centre clearances.

Massive blow for them if true! Is their best player!

Bushy look to be in trouble!
mate spoke to a few blocks at harcourt they cant get a coach.eyels got a coaching job in the gold coast berry cant play because got a high paying job and will be working in melb on sat/days big browney has already moved to melb.

i believe that chipper will be staying at brook and is quite happy there, i know carisbrook are very keen on keeping his services at the club, as chipper, chief and bazza gorman all had payment meetings with brook a couple of fridays ago...i wonder how high the pay packet for him will be this year....however there is along time to go before the season starts and im sure that he will be approached by numerous other clubs....rumour has it rovers are keen on his services also, they organised a meeting in ballarat with him to which he never showed up to....wonder how that went down......

Payment meetings ??

Browny must be bloody close to retirement anyway. His impact this year was down on previous years and is apparently struggling with his body. Is still one of few players in the league that has you legitimately concerned when ur near him and the ball though. Berry would be a massive loss.... he is a big calming influence in that side.

Could be a tight year next year!!! :thumbsu:

well payment meeting might have ben the wrong word, but obviously it was a meeting to discuss there thoughts for next year and how you would hope to hold on to them. was just answering the question that, yes i believe chipper will be staying at brook in 08. However i believe from what they have said payment was discussed and one of the issues to be talked about at this meeting.....not that there is problem with that as it would be expected.

on the avoca thing apparently they are hunting players from the loddon valley football league as that was tony's old stomping ground and has numerous connections.....avoca seem very determined for 08 and have already had 2 training runs.

Has played in 4 premierships in 5 years 3 at calivil and 1 at elmore could do some damage on the mcdfl small grounds is a roosting kick, he just has some fitness and discipline issues.

Avoca has obviously identified that they need a true key forward and I think they are right. If this guy is any good at all he is exactly what they need. It will allow Coghlan and Pilgram etc to play more supporting roles and their games will further benefit from this.

Spoke to Nick the other day and he confirmed he had spoken to Avoca and was definitely interested however the travel would probably rule it out for him i think but he has not made a decision as yet.

I believe that he will line up for Elmore again for the '08 season.

why wouldnt the lad stay at the brook for the reported 6 million over 5 years, dick pratt driscoll giving him the chateau in the south of france, and mrs chipper twigley modelling for macks surfwear...

Nick would be a very handy pick up, however i have seen his name appear on three different boards. He will need to do some work on his fitness over summer to fit in at Avoca I hear they are training already.

spot on richy, no coach no el presidente, no carload from melbourne, bushy on the ropes, has there been any developments..

similar story out at newstead also with the word being that no one wants to be a part of their committee, makes it hard to recruit and at this stage looks like they will struggle..ramsey considering castlemaine, obviously would be huge loss as he is the best player in this league

Yes, there will be some heated discussions at the AGM coming up soon. IMO there AGM is far too late.

Ramsey is a very good player... not sure if he's the best in the comp but a good player nonetheless! Will Christmas stay at the Maine?? I know Prickles had a large hand in recruiting him so I assumed he may return to Newstead??

You would think when you knew that ur office bearers were on the move you would want to get the AGM tied up ASAP. Near on impossible to recruit players and coaches without ur Office bearers/committee stable and set up. Hopefully they can get something together ASAP. Is the race still between Balzan and Egan???

How likely is a Rovers/Bushy merger do we think?? Obviously wont happen next year but IMO they will have to start to look at it in the years to come. Thoughts?

rich, you are probably right. it sucks but honestly somethings gotta happen. agm is next week and it is way too late. never wanna see the club go, but i guess somethings just have to happen. they wanted us to fold in 2002 i think it was, but there was a big backing by the supporters, hopefully it doesnt come to that again.

Does Bushy have many supporters these days?? Supporter numbers over the last few years seemed to have dropped off. I guess it's sometimes difficult to maintain a supporter group when you are not aligned with a town as such.......???? Not sure.

Interesting that someone from the club such as you thinks that this is the way to go. Be interesting to see what transpires at the AGM.

With an ordinary seconds side and not many U/17's to speak of Bushy do need a change at the helm. They need a coach like a Bellenger, D. Smith or even a Steve Thompson to get everyone around the club keen again. It will rub off on everyone. There will be more than 4 blokes at tuesday night trainings. Avoca found Bellenger late last year and turned out to be a gem. That doesn't happen often but for Bushy's sake I hope they can...
