A 3rd rounder is a token late pick these days You're talking about a pick in probably the mid-late 40s in a draft that will probably only involve 50-55 picks (drafts are shorter now due to DFA, SSP, MSD & shorter lists).

That said, I'd more or less let him go for free. So a token 5th rounder that we have no intention of using is fine just to get it done.

We really liked him in his MSD year. Mitchell loves players who have a “weapon” and clearly values kicking skills.
