For me the most exiting thing to come out of the hit out was the emergence of young NOD. Never looked under pressure good evasive skills and a big body can only get better

All the reports of NOD since day one of pre season have been positive, looking forward to hopefully seeing him debut in 2022.

Smokey to replace the midfield. Suddenly Valente retires and Tucker average at best, NOD gets a chance

If Sturt and Freddy both play. Do you play 2 or 3 talls?
You could still play Freddie and Sturt + 3 talls if you rotate our smaller mids through the forward line. Previously this would have been a problem, but we've got not just impressive depth these days, but also an abundance of smaller to mid-sized swingmen.

Walters and Switta both do pretty well in both the midfield and forward line, as does Crowden (though I still see him as a mid more than forward). Aish isn't a forward but he does okay on both a wing and in the guts which allows another midfielder to rotate forward while Freddie (or Sturt) goes to a wing. By all accounts Fyfe's goalkicking is improving so he could stay in the midfield, or swing forward as well to give Freddie or Sturt a chop out (or one the KPFs for that matter)

Coyler is most effective running towards goal from CHF to my mind than as a deep small forward, but he does okay at crumbing goals around packs if push comes to shove (mind you, if we can find find the consistency button this year, our pinpoint passing and current transition speed makes crumbing pack goals in a congested forward line less likely anyway).

The permutations are frankly endless - which in hindsight was clearly all part of the idea.

Hell - you could even have a full time mid like AB sit in the forward line for an extended rest, because players like Crowden, walters or switta could step into the midfield without losing that much impact (so long as you still have fyfe, mundy and another bull like Brodie or Tucker in around the ball).

Point being, with the general overall depth and large number of smaller multi-role players we currently have, playing two or three talls is becoming a minor concern.

Just watched yesterday's game. Man if Brodie can clean up his kicks he could be an awesome player for us. He had multiple opportunities goal side as well so he definitely could be a lethal mid.
Heard his inside work with hand ball was very good. Feeding the ball out to runners.

I wouldn’t mind at some point this season going with Treacy as the ruck/fwd (he seems to hold us own in there) and playing all of Sturt, Freddy, Treacy, Switta, Schultz, Tabs and Walters.

On paper, it sounds like a smart, fast and dangerous monster. Lobb would need to be injured or playing like absolute trash though because despite what people think, he is absolutely best 22.
I think Lobb is most useful as that link up on the wings. It depends on how quickly we’re moving it out of the back line but if we get stuck in that back 50, he’s the perfect out. He should be running up and down the wings all day and stack those others in your list in the fwd 50. Super dangerous.

I really like how quickly we could close space down.
Freddy, Clark, Chapman (he had one really good chase down the wing where he burnt past an Eagle and put pressure on), Crowden, Brodie, Brayshaw and Serong worked really hard. And the first four in particular have real pace.

When we had the ball, Clark Switta and Freddy were just able to clear the ball with leg speed, or create space for the lead
