Is Matthew Nicks the right coach for Adelaide?

  • Firmly yes (I love what I'm seeing)

  • Leaning yes

  • Can't decide either way

  • Leaning no (but don't sack him yet)

Smith was a favourite for a long time - I thought he was lucky to get through last year, but I didn't begrudge him for going another year and was still a fan.

I dislike him strongly now, not for his poor form, that doesn't reflect on him personally - but selfishness became a feature of his play, and now this.

It's completely unacceptable - if this is our culture, no wonder we're s**t.

Selfishness and lack of accountability are the key traits of the AFC.
Its a culture of the now is everything and the future can **** itself.

The way costa looks after his workers I’ve got no doubt Patrick got some nice hauls over time.
No doubt his family got looked after by Costa.

But the fact remains Geelong paid him less than the Crows were offering.

Mardi wanting to return home was the key factor which Sanders is ignoring.

Not to mention all of Dangerfield’s partner’s family found themselves employed by Costa prior to the move and Simonds Homes coincidentally had cheap home & land package going right in the middle of Moggs Creek for him.

If we lose this he won’t be sacked right away, but it will be his card marked

The board and football administration will be horrified. I think they already are, they will be feeling like he has let them down. They supported him with an extension and he has not repaid them

The players will know that it’s the thin end of the wedge too

He won’t survive beyond this season, but a loss this week will imperil his chances to see the year out

His responses to media are a man on fire, in a burning building who no longer believes he has things under control

And no one else does either
Agreed.

Wheeling out Rachele to apologise was horrific. Worst thing I've seen since the Burton/Pyke press conference.

Someone like Hardwick would have taken the front foot with the media and backed Josh to the hilt.

This week is the handbrake failing on a car parked on a slope.

It's terminal now.

I’m excited

You can see in his post match pressers that he's out of ideas. Horrendous body language, seems confused at how we are playing, no real answers.

Nicks has a habit of players second guessing themselves and thinking defend defend defend and lose the natural attacking game, I hope players like Pedlar and Curtin Nank etc don’t go into their shells
This is what happened to Chayce Jones. At the end of his 1st season the lad was playing and looking like a great pick. Next year and for the following 3 years that pair of cockroaches ruined him. Drained nearly every bit of talent out of him. He's playing ok now but I doubt he will ever recover from them.
I just hope our kids don't go the way he was sent. I LOATHE Godden, VB and Burns. Nicks is not up to the level required of a HC.

When the coach is a dead man walking... the only good decision is a quick one!

Have said the same last year, it’s his first thought

The shortest, longest season ever.
Have we ever had a season before where most pundits think we will play finals & its all over in the 1st month?

That's why I'm pissed at another wasted year & even moreso at the silence from the Crows leadership... as they are more worried about themselves than our club.

Agree.

The club should have come out with Josh or left it in-house.

I’m literally fed up with this club.

I won’t see a flag in the remaining years I have on this planet.

Sadly yes. His son is now the 7 newsreader.
****. Never change Adelaide.

The first two questions you are guaranteed to be asked at any function in Adelaide:
  • what do you do for work
  • where did you go to school

Sorry folks, but I have to be brutally honest. After such a long time away from Adelaide I have to say that it’s a bit of a backwater with jobs for the “in crowd”. And that in crowd think they’re hot shit but they’re actually just old money w***ers who wouldn’t cut it in any other mainland capital city.
