Clearly last ditch to play Finals with these senior players and get some Finals experience into the core of youngsters which is why we were so desperate for Petty but the senior players are more cooked this year compared to last year and sign Walker has also entered that stage.
I don't think those in charge thought the decline of Smith, and Laird, would have been as pronounced ......however given the desperation of the chase for a classy midfielder, may indicate they did know ???

Smith just looks so disengaged from the game ......he's slow, and his head isn't switched on to AFL Footy

I left Adelaide in 1989 .....35 years ago

Hard to believe the lack of media talent see's basically the same personnel still around ......it's an indictment on Adelaide, obviously though, the audience still laps them up, otherwise they'd be gone

And people wonder why players are reluctant to come to Adelaide
Your posts are becoming like a parody these days. Always defending the club, always bagging Adelaide the city. If you left in 1989 then why do you support the Crows anyway? It's clear you don't think highly of our beautiful state.

Started in 2020 finished in 2021 according to ABAB

#fullrebuild
The full rebuild was started in end of 2019 when we went from one of the oldest list to one of the youngsters with the amount of experience players we cut in 2019 and 2020. We've done the full rebuild those 2 years with our biggest list turnover in our history and we don't need to do another, there's a core list of quality youngsters coming through in case you haven't noticed but there also a big gap between the seniors players and this core list of quality youngsters which is why we had a last ditch to play Finals with these senior players this year. We will be cutting those we know haven't got the talent and replacing them with new draftee so it won't be a rebuild.

Listening to tim silvers, he just can't admit they got it wrong.
Can't fix a problem if you refuse to admit you have a problem... which is why most supporters have lost faith in the club leadership.

Graham Cornes running with:

"Why is Tim Silvers getting heat?"
"This isn't John Olsen's fault"
"I fully support the re-signing of Nicks because if you didn't re-sign him, imagine the heat on the club"
"Too much hysteria"
"People like Stephen Rowe are not objective"
"You can query some board appointments but who cares who it is, really?"

This sums up everything. You guys realise that absolutely nothing will change even if people move in and out, right?
Yeah I stopped listening, KG was embarrassing again

2024 ladder suggests otherwise...
Because of Nicks stupid change of game plan for the first 4 weeks, rarely do team recover from this kind of start so everything had to go our way which it didn't with the Essendon game then against Brisbane and Collingwood and there was the season. Also, we now know our seniors players are even more cooked than last year (even Walker is showing sign) and given there is a gap between our senior players and core list of quality youngster, what did you expect when the senior players aren't performing??? Why do you think we were desperate for Petty to have a last ditch to play Finals with these senior players.

If every player on the list was fit and available, Nicks would probably select something like this.
Average games played isn't that young for a rebuilding team
His selection policy is not too far off of sorting the team by games played and pick the highest 22

Players like Dowling and Curtin wont get selected because we have no long term vision.
Worrell started getting games because of injury.
We need to win this week is AFC policy.

Five years into our rebuild and we're still only winning 35%
Mainly against weak teams .

Tex 271 games
Smith 259
Laird 237
Crouch 154
Keays 126
Dawson 122
O'Brien 112
Murphy 105
Milera 99
Fogarty 92
Jones 89
Rankine 78
Butts 70
Scholl 64
Schoenberg 60
Hinge 56
Soligo 50
Rachele 47
Murray 46
Thilthorpe 46
MM 35
Worrell 26

If he doesn't have dementia or anther neurological disease, I would be very surprised...

Just not worth listening to anymore as makes about as much sense as WW.

Walker and Rankine back for Sydney

Who gets dropped

Borlase for Tex but the question is who makes way for Rankine

Now most eagle eyed pundits would suggest Laird have a rest but I guarantee Dowling is in the '' he only came in for cover'' gun

And that will be why Nicks should be sacked
Borlase?
Try Burgess who should never play again.

Reckon Murphy could make way for Rankine...

I actually think Hombsch would be one on the chopping block just cause he's new and not in the clique.

Absolutely no way I'd see them giving VB the turf for example. Or Burns.
VB & Burns are too similar imo... & at least 1 should go.

Hombsch's young defence has been the best performing part of the ground.

Bottom line is we need someone on the coaching group with strategic & matchday smarts... as clearly missing.

Caller then (rightly) says we’ve recruited and developed poorly and as such is terrified we’ll blow our draft hand on trades.

Cornes: it works for Geelong 🙄
Yeah, because we have been playing finals regularly like the Cats & just need to top up our list... if only.

Some people are just poor judges😜
Whilst most have gotten on the hysteria train ....there are genuine footy people who are far more analytical, than emotive

Opinions change like the wind ....in 12 months time, you won't find a supporter that was anti-Nicks .....there'll be a caveat ......you can bookmark it Cleanhands ....it's the way of the World

I don't think those in charge even acknowledge the decline in Laird. Nicks was in the media saying no one works harder than him, despite the poor efforts we've seen.

Maybe they are finally seeing the problem with Smith as the dropped before Cooks injury rumours look true.

Don't be fooled by the public uttering .....there's an entirely different narrative behind closed doors

We have a huge problem at HB .....there's no run off HB ....this is central to the Nicks gameplan

BRIS moved Zorko to HB after Kiddy Colemans injury ....every Club needs that distributor off HB ....our cupboard is dry

Hinge looks like he's playing more the Worrell role .....Smith / Hamill not the answer ...too many holes / roles to cover

If Nicks is still coaching next year, the clubs will lose a record number of members & sponsorship.

Why change up our half back line then?

Get Smith out like last year as has been terrible!
Move Laird to backline.
Give Curtin &/or Ryan a decent go.

The problem is this coaching group have hardly any imagination & happy to repeat the same strategy over & over.

Btw, our midfield & forward line has been a far bigger problem!

Btw, if thr club stick their head in the sand & ignore the public, they will lose members in droves.

I think they should try literally anyone but Smith then. Laird getting our most CBAs still is also concerning to me.

We're losing with him there anyway, trying others isn't going to cost us anything.
