Keane is not your typical Irish recruit, having already been on Collingwood's list. The Pies have already done the hard work for us, identifying his talent and developing him as a player. That significantly changed the cost/benefit ratio, relative to the normal Irish recruit.
The risk is still there. He could want to go home at any moment.

There is still some risk - but the risk is much lower, as Collingwood have already done a lot of the necessary player development.

Both costs & risks are significantly reduced, while the benefits have gone up (he's already a moderately proven commodity).

Anyway, back to Max...

Max will play 250 games. He's a gun. Quality defender one on one, very nice agility and pace, quality kick, can intercept.
He's the whole package.

What about Max's brother, do we have any idea of where he plays? Would prefer not a defender unless he's 198cm+

Early indications are he won't make it.
I don't think he has locked in a position.
Our players never go home

Lets put the kid on Toby Greene round 1.

I was at the ground when Neil Craig put 5th gamer Ben Rutten on Barry Hall.

I wonder if Nicks remembers that game? He kicked the first goal.

he can play on a resting callaghan when he goes forward or whatever

not on greene

they also put mcasey on monsters in 2020 and look what happened.

this is footy not some twisted psychological experiment
I'm not quite so sure. In many ways it would not be a twisted experiment as Max has a proven track record of being a very tight and frugal defender who can play on both taller types and smalls. He also has the physical and athletic attributes to run with Greene. In many ways it would be a good and very absorbing matchup. I would love him to really get under Greene's skin with his relentless tight checking and meanness in the sense of not giving anything away.

Also good for a first gamer. He doesn't need to worry about the footy. Just simply nullifying Greene. Hell of a task for a first gamer, but what better than to give our first rounder a chance to matchup against the best.

Max will likely get some time on Peatling and Connor Stone

That’s the best way to use him this year IMO , playing against similar aged players of similar weight ( no matter the height )

Most people said he wouldn’t debut this year due to his size coming into pre season and now you want to play him on the competitions most dangerous medium forward on his debut a few months later

It’s not just required , let him settle into an afl career
