Importantly, if the frees don't go your way next week, I expect none of you will complain.

You will see it as just part of the game.

Because Dogs fans haven't complained tonight.

You have reason to be aggrieved. It didn't effect the result. Let's move on.

Absolutely brilliant.
My highlight of the night (that snap goal)
That put us through i reckon. Yeah probably shoulda been a free but bloody courageous effort that. Happened just in front of me too.
Your worth your weight in gold Maxy!!!!

the heart of the team. i dont care if he gets less than 10 possessions a game every week. it is like braveheart or something for him out there.

the first one was where he was bumped between hudson and the other dude(nice try) he was straight back up again.

and the johnson clash was the highlight of the night.

he wins the ball at critical moments in the game and feeds off to gaz etc.. plus he is handy for 1 or 2 goals a game.

hope the beard is back for the gf though

I absolutely manlove this bloke, the heart and soul of our great club and once again last night showed the football world what he's all about.

A little disappointed in the haircut and beard trim, he looks much better half animal half human

Sometimes you just want players to make a contest. Tonight, a few times I cursed "keep your feet Stokes" or "make a contest Johnno".

I don't know if that was Stokes' fault. Lots of players were slipping over on that patch of grass which was part of a strip that had been replaced. Varcoe managed a great recovery to get the mark in the same spot.

I especially like this extract from an article:

Rooke's goal came after he bounced back a heavy clash in a marking contest with Bulldog skipper Brad Johnson. As Rooke bounced to his feet, Johnson was on the ground with blood spilling from his head.

Johnson was stupid for staying in the contest, end of story.

Stokes had the lion's share of turf time. All over the ground.

I think initially he had his eye on the ball, but looked at Johnson to brace for impact.. Probably a free kick but what a great contest by Max..

how good was that bump on johnson running back with the flight, taking him out, getting straight back up and then snapping that goal. Against the run of play when the doggies were really coming hard at us. That was the goal that finished the doggies off. Maxi is born to play finals and proved it tonight.

are you ****ING stupid??? Running back with the flight of the ball, max rooke is dog! he had no idea where the ball was and it was a clear free kick imagine if that had happened to gary "livng in a shadow" ablett all of you guys would have been saying thats the most courageous thing you sad litlle people hade ever seen, plus there would have been a freekick. Hope buddy runs threw that weak prick next week.
we will be back.
