McCarthy, shulz, bennel, Jetta or carslile? Who is our priority?

**** McCarthy to be honest. Apparently loves the darts and also seems more interested in playing for a Melbourne side than returning to WA. There's a sense of entitlement about that brigade who played states over the last three or four years.

Shultz would be awesome though, love his endeavour and the fact he's so consistent and a real hard, junkyard dog.

Carlisle... would be a no one outside of Victoria. Eh.

Bennel is a shithead. And a coch's nightmare. No thanks.

Have you ever made a mistake on your life? Can you do things to change for the better. I've seen it happen first hand from people close to me.

Bennel can and he is no lost cause. It's like you know both he and McCarthy personally.

Ironically Silent Alarm has made a ton of mistakes in his posts here. Some of his massive clangers include (and paraphrasing) It was an act of desperation to sign McPharlin and Hill should be dropped for Sheridan in 2014. Not to mention how massively wrong he has consistently been on assessing the performance of players who play at Freo.

If we did the total opposite of SA's recommendations Im confident we will do bloody well this trade season. Bennell is one of the most talented footballers I have ever seen. At the very least we should be inquiring about Gold Coast's trade requirements. He might be the bargain of the century. People forget there have plenty of footballers who were nearly cut by their team, only to come back and be champions. Stevie J, MJ, Walters and more recently Dustin Martin were nearly written off only to return better players.

Poor SA.:cry::cry::cry:. Hes like the Haggers of Freo BF. I hear all this bad stuff but hes alright. Some people swim in a different lane its all good though. Love this board cuz of it.

Love this (although maybe SA hits the side of the pool more than most).

1) Bennell. Jeez, he is an absolute talent. Has amazing ability and honestly, I'd say get him and make him live with one of the older fellas to show him the right path. He would be a ready made replacement/upgrade on D.Pearce.

2) Schulz. Look, give him a one year contract, as insurance for Apeness/Tabs development. I still have high hopes for the Ape and Tabs but I think Schulz would be a good quick fix

3) Carlisle. Nope. Expect his manager to do the old "He's going west" approach to up his dollars. Don't need him.

4) Mcarthy: YES! YES! YES! This guy is a gun. We realistically would've picked him up in the draft but GWS did two picks earlier... even when they had 3 FF's already with Cameron, Jaksch and Patton  He'll be an amazing player.

5) Others: Jetta won't leave. Hogan won't leave. Dixon isn't worth it.

Would agree on this assessment.

Early in the year I would have agreed with this enthusiasm Dump Truck, but after watching some of his games later in the season I am more than a little worried. In the game against Melbourne on the weekend he had 11 possessions for 0.2 goals. On more than a couple of occasions he absolutely butchered the ball, giving it up and resulting in turnover scores to Melbourne. On that performance he would not be an upgrade on Taberner, although he has shown early in the year he can certainly play.

Would definitely still be interested in getting him, but would love to know what has happened from the beginning of the season to now. Hopefully not an attitude issue...

Did / does he:

A. Hit the rookie wall (yes I know 2nd year)
B. He want out and his performance and effort was according to this.
C. Get ahead of himself

Yeah, would be nice to slice his head open and see what is going on in there, but I guess then they'd invoke the concussion rule.

in one way I would love it to be B, but then I would question the loyalty and work ethic of the kid - or is it not cool to use those terms in reference to Gen Y?

The issue with him is he is more of a 3rd tall, than someone you can build a forward line around.

I guess Darling or Stringer proves if you are good enough, your height doesn't matter but it is always a concern.
