Yeah, we usually get tired of talking about a thread title about 5 threads in and then it's first in to highjack it wins the points.

You should have tuned in last night.

Im sure some here heard it last night and would have had a chuckle. Apologies for posting a Port Adelaide example but no matter what happens after every Port game KG comes out and wets himself over Chad and Kane Cornes and how Port would be stuffed without them and what brilliant games they have pleyed etc etc regardless of what has transpired.

A caller rings in last night and criticises Kane Cornes for his disposal, most notably his kicking The caller is 100% spot on with his observations of Kane and his floating kicks. But they would not have a bar of it, get stuck into this guy and basically just terminate the call.

But as discussed, the sports show continues to rate very very well so cant seen any changes soon.

So nothings changed in the last couple of years then?

They really over-reacted on that one. As you say, the caller was on the money. Graham admitted that Kane's kicking had been poor last season but said if anyone had actually been watching the game closely this season they would have seen that his efficiency by foot has been very good. Err, Graham, do you think that Kane, as a result of his poor kicking last season, is choosing easier, shorter and more sideways options in order to boost his efficiency rating and stop turning it over? He's not kicking the ball better. Why do you think he can get 30+ touches without having any impact on the result of the game?

This is why I have a real problem with the efficiency stat and comments in general about our players' disposal. Statistically Rutten is our best kick. But we know he isn't. He knows he isn't. He knows his limitations and chooses low risk options. Very smart, very sensible. A player like Thompson takes more risks with his disposals in an endeavour to hurt the opposition which obviously leads to the occassional turnover. Despite his creativity and the goals he can create with his disposals he gets canned for causing turnovers! Christ. Deliver a 20m pass or chip it sideways and you won't get criticised. Then we'd be a better team
