edit:...at ease, ok now...... wonder what that was about.

Missed it. What did he say?

Not a whole heap of new information ... but that the supporters he knows have driven him to be part of the board. He can't be chairman because he doesn't feel he has the skills (having never been on a board). He spent a fair bit of time discrediting the Lions' prescription for pain (Pinskier) and how "around an EGM all the loonies seem to get out of the bin". Asked how the emails got out, how the details of the EGM were made public via his proxy thing ...

Feels he's made enough cash from playing and coaching etc, so it's time to do something purely for the Club.

Doesn't feel like there's any bridge-mending to do, just get a new perspective. Feels that Springfield is an odd place but understands it was the only financially viable option at the time, but that without the Feds it might not happen. Happy with football department appointments.

A small beacon of light in a dark sea of insanity.

Please let this whole trade/draft/free crap stuff be over.

The very first thing that should be done is a boots and all investigation into all the internals- something is very clearly wrong when all this actual and potential talent just up and wants out.

Why??????

Brisbane Lions
Return date: November 4.
The Lions will spend two days together in Brisbane before the entire group heads to Arizona for a two-week altitude training camp from November 6. Originally it was just the five-year plus players slated for the camp, but new coach Justin Leppitsch wants more bonding time as a collective and has included the entire squad. All coaching and fitness staff will also attend. The injured brigade of Jonathan Brown (foot), Daniel Merrett (ankle) and Claye Beams (knee) are all in shape to attend. - Michael Whiting

Interesting that Leppitsch call is that everyone goes, so as to not split the group. Maybe that had more of an affect than we thought last year? Also good to see Beams heading over, as well as Merrett and Browny.

Love the idea in theory......but we are broke, isn't there a cheaper place here at home that they can go to, with pretty much the same results..

My idea is that you just don't keep spending money if you don't have it.

Won't be cheap sending that amount of people over there.

That's a further change from when he was appointed. Then he was talking "most" of the squad. Wonder if it includes current rookies.

Its a tough one given our finances but with a new coach coming in (after replacing a 5yr senior coach) then I like the idea of keeping the group together for at least the first pre-season under Leppa.

Some of the guys may put up their own cash. I think it's seen as a Good Thing.

Yeah it doesn't say we've funded them all though. I imagine at least some pleyers will need to pay some of their own way, pretty sure North players are doing that this year too.

I'm pretty sure that they signed up a trip sponsor for this years one? that will help cover some of the cost. Nature's Own maybe, might remember seeing something like that?

There is a media alert thread that they're derailing with their spelling-related posts.
Heath Shaw announcing on twitter he is wrapped to be going to the Giants and wants to thank everyone for there support. Bewdiful.

So, the message I got from that was,
"I'm shattered to be leaving Geelong where I really want to be. I had to rush the decision without proper consideration. I really don't know how it'll work, being in the same side as Leuey. Yay.:("
