Half-time team stats:

Tackling has been good today.
Don't appear to be fit enough, they carve us up on the rebound

When your hardly ever having shots, you can't kick 1.9 or whatever...

I hope your taking the piss. 82-13 at half time doesn't seem competitive to me.

We're tackling well (14 more then the Hawks), chasing - we'll just have to fact the fact that the premiership favorites are a 100+ point better team then us.

Melbourne have a decent spine (Dawes, Watts, Frawley and Garland are all playing very well) but they need to find 17 other Nathan Joneses to fit into the rest of the side.

No composure, basic skill errors, tackles aren't sticking, and one-paced running. To be fair, Hawthorn have made us look pretty damn ordinary in our recent outings, but I've seen a few Melbourne games this year and it's a re-occurring theme. It's a shame too, as you can see the players are having a real crack and you can almost see what they're trying to do when they're turning it over.

Oh, Watts going down the race. What's up with that?

Remember mate it's attempted tackles according to Neeld that matter.

No, the point is that our players are showing that they can motivate themselves. That's obviously in evidence today. As it was in the second half against Freo, as it was against Richmond, for example.

Look past Neeld.

The fact that we have that motivation in the playing group means things could get better quite quickly if we can get a coach with Premiership experience at the helm.

Pedo's been good on return
Jones as usual
Terlich is playing injured and has been fantastic.
Dawes is a good lead up player and leader
Garlo is continuing his great form
Chip seems to have cracked the shits, but it was his opponent that smashed us early...
Hate Watts as high half forward, need him to get some campaigner in him

Little consolation for you probably but Jones is absolute quality. He would be in the starting team for just about every club. I really like watching him play. Even in situations like this he plays like the game is in the balance. A lot of respect for that.
Just about? He would easily make the starting midfield at every club.

And the workrate continues to be well in evidence after half-time. Good effort by Jonesy with another clearance win, inside 50 and nearly a goal to Fitz :thumbsu:

McDonald with the pointless handball back into play to a waiting opponent. Does that a lot. Oh well, he's provided a contest today at least.

Exactly. We really do have the blocks to build on here. You can see that very obviously.

Aside from those players, Howe's been perfect with his ball use, as well as Garland has. Bail's working hard, and winning contested ball. Trengove's going well, with 11 possessions so far and 4 tackles.

And Rodan... his ball use isn't up to the mark, overall the game has passed him by, but he seriously is putting in, you've got to respect that effort.

He's won 10 contested possies so far- make that 11 now. That's nearly as good as Jonesy's done :thumbsu:

He has played very well on Sam Mitchel today while working hard to get a bit of the footy.

Great mark by Dawesy near the square. Go back and kick the goal son!

And he does. VERY well earned :thumbsu:
