We currently hold the record for the greatest losing margin... at the current rate, this is going to be eclipsed by todays game.

Is this the game that seals Bailey's departure?

Absolutely horrible.

Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

This is the worst effort I have ever seen in the history of AFL.

What are they doing?

Moloney & Green 0 possessions. Sylvia just 3 touches.

Making Scully's decision a LOT easier.

Re: Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

Keep an eye on this... it could be superceded today.

ROUND 6, 2007
GEELONG 35.12 (222) DEFEATED
RICHMOND 9.11 (65)

Re: Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

and I thought it was Richmond at rock bottom.. please Melbourne are a pathetic excuse for a club.. lol

Re: Melbourne

Remembering the sheer SIZE of VFL Park before they scaled the lines down to match the MCG and it just makes you respect the effort of Fitzroy all the more to kick 36.22 on that massive ground.

That's not to disrespect what Geelong are doing now (and it is amazing to watch), but Kardina Park must seem like the Little League playing across the wings compared to the old Waverley layout.

If this keeps up, you'd think it might be a coach killing game

Re: Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

At least Richmond supporters turn up every week regardless of the state of the team.

Melbourne are rather disgraceful in that respect.

List wise, both are about even, but Richmond in my view have more upside because Cotchin is a star and one of my favorites in the competition.

Re: Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

Moloney & Green still haven't touched it.

Moloney MUST be dropped. Bailey MUST be sacked. This is without a doubt the least competitive side i've ever seen.

Re: Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

Moloney still has donuts

Re: Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

100 point half time deficit about to happen.

Hang your heads in shame Melbourne players.

Re: Melbourne's first 1.5 quarters against Geelong

Sometimes the phrase 'training drill' is thrown around to the detriment of the team being thrashed, but this is genuinely just a training drill. I've se several passages where Geelong have done what they like with absolutely no pressure, casually handballing it backwards and forwards to kick goals.

On world record pace at this point.

Moloney still to touch it, absolutely dismal. Scully, Bailey, and I'd suggest a few others, may have decisions made based on this game.
