RT heres what i would class each as:

Premium: 430k+ (Marc Murphy and higher, average of 97+)
Keeper (potential premium): I would say around 385k-430k
Keeeper: hard to pick but around 340k-385k
Mid Priced: 225k-340k
Cheapie: 140k-225k
Rookie: <140k

Thats just me though, and off the top of my head not really looking closely.

Cut off for keepers/mid pricers is probably sometwhere around that foley/kerr/griffen mark IMO.

What are peoples thoughts on the following midfeilds.
Swan, Boyd, Selwood, Bibbs, t.Tuck, Rich
vs
Kornes, Boyd, S.Tuck, Gibbs, Jackson, 86k
vs
Swan, Selwood, S.Tuck, Gibbs, T.Tuck, Rich/86k player
I think that both swan and kornes are both good captain optoins but not sure wat to do with Boyd, Selwood, S.Tuck. Jackson in option two also gives me more security than T.Tuck. I would be happy to settle for any of the 5th 6th midfeilder optoins though as they are probably only going to be upgraded at some stage.

I've now change my mids (again)...
Premium (A/B/C)
Premium (Swan/Kornes)
Keeper
Mid pricer
Rookie
Rookie

I'm not too confident about starting two rookies, but it allows me to get an extra keeper in the forwards which I'm happy about it.

It is something i too am definately considering. I really want to start with the mid pricers i see value in, but its hard squeezing them all in, but i might not to start a rookie to free up cash, so its very challenging.

Also worth noting alot of people are getting ABC.

Not sure though, may upgrade one of my Keepers to a Premium as it may not be the strongest midfield come the end of the year.

C23, AUS i see your midfield as quite expensive when looking at this. Im looking to start a rookie in the mids and also have a gun (corey) along with 2 potential keepers.

I would like to ask 2 Q's
Are you starting with 2 keepers in the rucks??
How man rookies are you starting??

Because i cant see where you get your money from with having a strong backline.

Also what are peoples thoughts of having K.Simpson as your 3rd best starting mid whod be considered a potential keeper

I have the same combination as C23 and have amnaged to have a good side. I have Ablett, S.Tuck, J.Selwood, Gibbs, Haselby and Rich. I still managed to have Cox and Hille in the ruck with three rookies starting.

1. Yes, i do believe i have 2 keepers in the rucks
2. Zero though i do have one player that is at rookie price starting.

1. Cox/H.Mac. I don't mind telling people my rucks because I haven't exactly got anything to hide with that combo.
2. At this stage, one rookie, in the forwards, although he is pricier than a regular rookie.

Don't kid yourself. Rich is not classified as mid-priced. He is a rookie.

I've gone a bit different to most of you guys, more guns/rookies. Atm it's

Ablett
Swan
Kornes
Gibbs
Hill
Rich

I think there's a lot of value from about $150k to $200k in the backs, so I've looked to stock up there. In my mind there's too many question marks over the real premiums in the forwards and the backs to really stock up there so I've done it in the midfield instead.

Scotland looks shaky for round one, Hodge will be underdone and will like have to play more defensive for the start of the season, Embley has a sligth role change and will also be underdone, Bowden is finding it harder to get a spot in the Richmond team.

Up forward, Pavlich has been pulling horrible numbers in the pre-season which seems to be a result of this midfield style role he's playing. Though apparently Mitch Brown towelled him up last night which suggests Pavlich was playing forward and simply got beaten. Must be a Brown thing. Richo's age worries me as does N.G. Brown's. Deledio is my only solid forward lock with my other two forward keeps looking to come from that Davis/Sylvia price range.

So that's my reasoning for stocking up on premiums in the midfield. The issue is going to be with those 2 rookies starting in the midfield. It was looking like there wasn't going to be a lot of cover there for a while but I think now I can be relatively confident in starting 2.

Hill looks near certain to start round one so I've moved him off my backline bench (Replaced with Spangher) and onto the midfield. Rich will more than likely start round one and most other teams have him starting too. One of Beams and Sidebottom looks likely to crack the Collingwood side and I've got enough cash for either of them. The other bench spot is likely to go to Robinson, though if he's named in the team for Thursday I'll be tempted to start him on the field simply because I know he'll get a game, probably for Rich.

My team used to stacked with guys like Van Berlo and Priddis in the Mids but I think I feel much more comfortable with the way it is now, I'm much more sure of who will be the top scoring mids than I am in any other position.

^^ Yes i can see plenty of the top line backs dropping in value very quickly. Hodge injury and wont be 100% for round 1. Same can be said for Embley, Carazzo, Scottland. So i think these 4 could drop very very fast in price and it may be worth just having 3 keepers in the backs. I was all for stacking my backline with quality players and having 5 deadset keepers and 1 potential. But now im changing my mind on this. I think Hill could play a huge part in DT to success this year. Ih he plays the first 6,7 games he makes heaps of money and could almost be a sideways trade to one of the fallen guns.

In mids i have pretty well much locked in Corey, Gibbs, Haselby whilst the ther 3 spots are up for grabs. Looking for a 3rd keeper. Kornes may be that man as i see him as a top 6 mid with end in mind. I had Pendlybury but am unsure about tags and its a risk because he might not become a keeper. Also considering Stanton, Selwood, Mitchell because they are defiatnly keepers.

I think our structure/team will be very similar.

How do you come up with statements like "Mitchel and Stanton are definitely keepers but Pendlebury might not be"? As far as I can tell all three are thereabouts. As well, Embley, Carrazzo, Scotland and Hodge are priced within 50k of the ubiquitous picks Cornes, Fisher, Goddard etc., so their drop is not going to be particularly dramatic unless for some reason you think they are going to fall away from their previous season's average by a huge deal. (The magic number won't affect their prices that quickly.) Also what you said for Hill applies equally to Raines, Grimes, Rich, Skippy, Lucas, Higgins etc. My point is I think you are picking and choosing with regard to your own team instead of looking at the big picture.
