The Blues were never going to trade pick #1. The reason Judd didn't nominate the Tiges was because he didn't rate your list or management or future. That's the real reason. He rated the Dees, Dons, Pies and Blues ahead of your Club. And that's the point. Do you agree with Judds assessment?
If Brennan leaves the Lions then it worked well. If not then someone else may fall it is how the game works. Make other clubs pay overs for players and eventually one will miss out. If we made a play for Brennan ahead of Hooper we would have probably ended up with Hooper. Now which player is better value for Richmond? Another small flanker/pocket or a potential KP type.Wallace, McRae, Tambling and Miller all flew up to Brisbane to try and convince him to leave. That's a fairly elaborate 'decoy'.
was tossing and turning last night on the futile play we made for Hooper when in reality we have both Tambling and Edwards miles ahead of him vying for a similar spot...when "bing" it just occurred to me. we never wanted the
%#@%, we simply wanted the Lions to bust their chops to keep him meaning there was prescious little left in the cookie jar when it came to signing someone like Brennan that we would seriously like to see in the yellow and black. Now that Mr miller is one hell of a card trick
How is this so?
KB said Richmond were in the box seat and you all believed it.....
Greg Miller is an idiot and 95% of tigers supporters I speak to would do anything for him to leave.
Case in point. The last player the tigers needed this year was another outside running half back like Jordon M.
I would think u would of been better off keeping your pick and using it on a young Ruck/Fwd/Back or inside mid.
Actually KB said Richmond were in the box seat to make a play for Judd and force Carltons hand to give up more than they wanted, which is what happened. Major prize would have been them giving up picks 1 & 3 with us netting Kruezer but we'll take Carlton losing a talented young KP, like they have shitload to be able to give one up, and 2 picks in the top 20 for a player that may or may not help bring success to Carlton. How is this so?

Still believing the spin, Parrot. Your initial offer on the Monday of trade week was picks 3 & 20 no more. You had to sacrifice Kennedy to get the deal done. Tell me if it was as cut and dried as you would have us believe then why did it take 3 days of draft week to get the deal done? WC had a better offer which Carlton had to top hence Kennedy being added.Um, it didn't. We still got Judd and we still have pick #1. lol. It had no effect whatsoever. If we gave up pick #1 or #1 and #3 or missed Judd, then you'd be correct. But none of these happened. The reason? Miller failed to get Judd to nominate the Tiges, and so the Tiges could not trade with the Weagles.
You can retrospectively try and argue that it all works out for the best, but lets not pretend that the reason the Tigers made such an effort to poach Hooper was anything other than the fact they wanted his services. Getting Brennan is Plan B.
Chased Hooper so that the Lions who were keen on keeping him had to offer him a little bit more to secure him.
Now as it stands the Lions still have a few players yet to re-sign, namely Selwood, Adcock and Brennan. Richmond are sniffing around forcing up their prices and will gladly take anyone of them if they can't get a deal done. Well played Mr Miller.
No they wouldn't have they most likely would have offered the Lions a trade to get him but think about it from the following angle, we had enough money to pay Judd's million dollar demands, so we will have more than enough to pay 3-4 players that amount in total. We signed McMahon on about $1 mil over 3 years, have got Morton who would be a average contract and still have room to move to target more players. Hell for all any of us know Miller may have gone and contacted Ruttens manager (he has not signed yet) and offered him $1.5 over 3 years. So if Hooper agreed to go Richmond, Miller would have immediately withdrawn the offer and flown his posse back to Melbourne?
Every club has players who are yet to sign.

Have a look at the McMahon deal we offered him the 3 years before he decided to sign with us. Same situation would have applied if Hooper decided to come to Richmond. They would have offered the Lions a trade so that pick 1 in the PSD could be kept in the bank. We could have taken either McMahon or Morton in the PSD but traded for them instead to keep our options open.So you're saying Miller's plan was if Hooper agreed to play for Richmond they would have traded him straight back to Brisbane again?

My point was Hooper was a target not the main target at Brisbane. Never said they didn't want him just that they had more than one target in mind.So you did want him then. That was my point all along.

Our initial offer was 3,20 and kennedy... The eagles wanted pick 1 as well. If anything we were trying to get 20 out of the deal. Kennedy was always going to be a part of the deal... well a WA boy anyway and at the moment bower has no currency.
The good thing about you Richmond tossers are you all breath the same toxic air.willing to talk about the salary cap breaches....
I went outside to try and breath an air but I just can't do it! How is it done?
Look one thing about Miller.. he is so smart that you just know that he will always have you blokes in the box seat....
