Surely not all these punters are getting coin. Euston were not far off last year. Parker brothers can play. They will be the most improved from last year.

Re: Millewa Football League

Not all on $$$ but a bit splashed to get the ball rolling i rekon??? Good win to the Bombers though. Wonder if they had any on Permit?? I don't know much about the Parker boys but Joey can find the ball.
I bet the Golly boys got the shock of there lives, rekon th would have had that win chalked about for about 7 weeks.:thumbsu:
I guess money doen't talk:cool:
Cardy were miserable, didn't help there cause when Matty Mc got KO'd at the start of the 3rd. No Huddo, Carter, Lambert, Wade Allford, either. Gonna be a long year for the Lions.

Looks like the year of the Saints again, they looked very impressive in the last half that i witnessed on Saturday. Apparently they still a players to come into the side, so will only improve.
As for Cardy a long year would be an understatement. They tried hard but i think they had a few players that have never played and then some more that have been out of the game for along time so i can't see them even making the 4 at this stage.

Euston over Golly is huge and it may be a reality check for the Hawks which kicks there season into gear. They have to many good players to be an average side.

Some insight in this post.

Ben Parker was on the Crows list in 2000/2001.

Re: Millewa Football League

A bloke at work who is playing for Gol Gol (not a paid player) this year said on Fri morning that they have 10 player's out due to all differnet reasons (work, away, injuries and so on).But I still gave it to him about the loss. He was good and did not harp on about 10 that where out of the side. I also had the chance of seeing the Roos V Dees and the Dees looked very good for the first 2 quarters but then it was all Roos.Hammer Yates and Storer far from best's so looks like can get better.

Ladder by seasons end.
Bambil
A lot of Catching up to do down on
Gol Gol
Euston/Merringur
Werrimull
Nang/Cardy
Goal Kicking top 3 Bambil then a Gol Gol player.
Take Bambil out of the comp and then it would be pretty even.
One more thing player's at Gol Gol there is only 5 players plus the two coachers getting paid.(I hear)
Bambil 15 players and so i heard they offered a Cardy recruit (did not sign at Cardy New to the area) double what ever Cardy offered???
This is only my opinion.

That has been the standard line for years... it is a load of crap.

Yeh, had a bloke keen at Cardy -enter Rob Morgan and the Bambil cheque book -didn't come back to training. He ended up staying at Sth though.

My ladder:
Bambil
Gol Gol (with that list they should)

Throw a blanket over a few
(Pies, Cardy (maybe), Euston, Meringer

Nangi (spoon again) although will better than last year

I agree about i bit closer comp this year - Bambil the stand out by a long way though.

Seeing you've brought my name into this, I thought I better put some facts straight. Aaron Clarke was only offered standard match payments at our club ($30 a win) and no clearance was lodged. All I did was had a chat with him. I actually encouraged him to have a chat with the South Committee, who convinced him to stay in town. Explain to me what's wrong with that:mad:

What's wrong with that is ... there was a bloke looking to enjoy playing footy again with some mates out the bush. Had trained at the club, gave a verbal commitment and NO cash has been discussed! (wow! a bloke playing footy for the love of the game!!). After a couple of weeks of training, you blokes see his clearance submitted online and throw the cash line out there. It's a joke!!!

How much do you want to win the Flag by????

Bad form by me dropping you name though:thumbsdown:

From what i have seen Bambill are the most professionally run club in the league by miles.(not sure about Golly although i hear they are very good also)
I think for Morgs to do that it shows the smarts they have. To many clubs sit on their backsides and hope things will come together unlike Bambill who are very proactive in their recruiting.

Your example isn't applicable seeing as how the bloke mentioned isn't even playing at Cardy. He obviously had no idea what he wanted and thats why he stayed put.

As for how much you wanna win the GF by personally after being smashed in it last year i'd take one by any margin great or small. Bambill work hard on the track and they are well supported by committee etc. off it thats why they are so succesfull, no other reason.

Re: Millewa Football League

I have to agree with you there skeeterman (in regards to club committees etc putting in the hard yards). Football is like any business - Not much will happen if you sit back and wait for people to come to you. I am new at Gol Gol this year but I did get to see first hand how much the "behind the scenes guys" did out there in the off season.
