Your dong it wrong bro.
He was on board wasn't he?
Lawyers will be having extra drinks after work having a statement like that out there.Yep he was. Amazing the hubris of some people in the presence of mother nature.
You'd still design it so any failure of critical equipment you would have a fallback. Especially comms. They used off the shelf parts
I did read it had a device that if there was a mechanical failure it could drop its buoys and float back to the surface. You'd think redundancy for any critical apparatus would be mandatory on a sub like this. Sadly it sounds like it was a deathtrap waiting to happen.
Banging.Searchers for Titanic Tourist Sub Heard 'Banging' From Area, Internal Comms Reveal
Internal email updates to DHS leadership obtained by Rolling Stone show searchers heard "banging" in the area where Titan submersible disappeared.www.rollingstone.com
Everything I've heard suggests safety was not their priorityYou'd still design it so any failure of critical equipment you would have a fallback. Especially comms.
It may well have. The fact that comms and the ping went down at the same time suggests it had a leak and pressurized. If so those on board would have died instantly.
Probably had flare guns stapled to the walls.Everything I've heard suggests safety was not their priority
A couple of milo cans and a piece of stringProbably had flare guns stapled to the walls.
I have no idea. Mr Google provided the following:I'm assuming that even the subs we don't know about don't go that deep.
wow this guy is ****edCEO of Oceangate
For those playing at home, each 10m of depth is approximately one additional atmosphere of pressure. What is the deepest a nuclear submarine has gone?
The USS Dolphin (AGSS 555) is the world's deepest diving submarine, having set a depth record of over 900 meters shortly after its deployment in 1968 (although small submersibles have gone deeper). It is also the Navy's only remaining diesel-powered submarine, as all newer subs are nuclear powered.
wow this guy is ****ed
lawyers gonna make bank

Ocean Gate is doomed.
Tell me about when Australia had subs that actually went in the water Pops.On the old O-Boats (Oberon class subs Australia used to operate) they'd tie a taut rope from one end to almost the other, go deep and show the newbies how much the rope would droop to show them the sub had shrunk under pressure. Cool party trick.
It's not a technology you want to leave to people who "do their own research"
I didnt realise anyone had actually gone to Challenger Deep, honestly thought theyd just pinged sonar off it.Oh and if you want to know a crazy thing about deep see exploration

The guy that created Valve, the company behind Half Life and Steam has the best sub
Its a two person sub but unlike the home made one they spent real money on this and it works
hint not made out of carbon fibre with parts from home depot bolted on
This thing has been deeeep

You can't contract away liabilityNot so sure. They make them all sign contracts waiving company responsibility. The contract even lists the ways you can die in there.
The depth, or that we are able to pollute the oceans all the way down that far?I didnt realise anyone had actually gone to Challenger Deep, honestly thought theyd just pinged sonar off it.
Thats utterly terrifying
