Selectors and coach need to have some accountability for playing their favourites with obvious results

Every run Cummins get is another nail in his coffin. I'm not against him ever coming back into the Australian side, but he needs at least a couple of years to show off improvement and an actual body of work that deserves a recall.

Marsh has again proven he has limited up top.
Like his older brother who consistently looks like he is going to spew over himself, both are just...stupid up top.

Cummins and James Pattinson is an infinite times better option then Marsh as the 4th bowler.
Unlike most our batsmen they actually place a value on their wicket.
The series was lost so we decided to set Australian cricket back another 10 years!

MMs one of the first picked for ODIs but he’s out of his depth in tests.
The selectors should pick Pattinson in the test team and nurse him back to be a frontline bowler again. He’d also score quite a few more runs.

Yeah I remember thinking how good Cummins, pattinson and hazlewood would be all bowling at 150 plus.
Pattinson wont be that fast again but he looks a handy pace man and hes competent with the bat.
The other two have proven themselves.
We have a great bowling attack currently though. I wouldnt mess with it

I feel for him. In test cricket, he's just not up to it yet the selectors still pick him. It's not as if he'd been banging the door down for a recall either when it comes to his latest selection in the team.

Has he ever actually been in form?
You could say he had a purple patch 12 months ago, but both those tons were made on roads where we declared after making 650 runs.
After 53 innings of fairly consistent poor form I'm not sure we can even put it down to form.

He could still have a decent Test career from the age of 30 on but he needs time to get himself right. Give him a break, let him work on things at Shield level, if it doesn’t improve, tough luck.

Ben Horne has written that Mitch Marsh faces the axe for the Sydney test. If he is axed, i don't want the selectors considering him for national selection unless there's a body of work that warrants consideration for selection.

I don't know if it's just the way the article written but this is hilarious.
I think the sad thing is Marsh's career has probably been ruined by the selectors more so then his ability. If he was able to head back to the Shield for a few years when he first failed and really focus on becoming a good long term batsman you never know what could've happened in his late 20s. Unfortunately he's been rushed in whenever the selectors decide to change their meaning of "team balance", is always under enormous pressure and has likely been mentally scarred by it all.
He's also still in all our white ball plans so I can't see him ever getting the time in the Shield necessary to really turn it around so he'll probably end up a white ball specialist unfortunately.

Needs to spend the next 24 months playing just Shield and County cricket to try and build a robust level of confidence and technique (with bat and ball) for the first class game. It’s the only way I can see him ever having the possibility of another chance at Test level.
