If we are going to delist and then rookie him it does give every other club the chance to pick him up and 13 others the chance even with a pick ahead of us in the rookie draft. Would another club stoop that low to trump us just when he might finally get a 2nd crack?

considering the relationship the club has with mora i doubt anyone would be dog enough to actually try and grab him.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight it's the drugs they're on.
Have they appointed The Pharmacist because of his expertise in running a drug fuelled list???

I tend to agree.

Unless we've got something specific lined up, given how many we've moved on, I find it surprising that Ballard wouldn't be given a short contract, or Moller the same. They're both young and Ballard such a ball winner and big body. I defer to the club which has much more info to go on that we wouldn't know, but I can't see how that 2nd rnd pick in the PSD, or even lower (which we may well need to use) is going to end up being better that Ballard.

With that in mind, I reckon we should just offer Mora a main list spot, try to get him a game this year some time without having to mess with rookie upgrades. Surely it's got to the stage where he either makes it in the next 12 months or it's all over.

Yes and now they may not pick up McCarthy and Bennnell

Sounds like a midfield to me.
Yeah but we have Mundy, Neale, Barlow, Hill, D Pearce, Weller, Blakely, Langdon, Crozier, Sheridan, Suban to go through there.
The 3 I mentioned could make a brutal forward setup and still have stints in the middle.
We have to do something down there!

Yes. I am not actually disagreeing because we gotta do something. Just saying. But I would back them in against Mundy, Neale and Hill.

Mundy, Neale and Hill are excellent stoppage players but don't look anywhere near as impressive a forward setup though.
Of course its a bummer to take Fyfe out of the middle but he's potentially a star forward. Even Carey backed in Fyfe as a CHF.
Our last Captain did ok playing out of the forward half with stints in the middle. I reckon the new one will too! :)

Get him training as a forward!
Bennell, Fyfe Morabito makes for a pretty impressive half forward setup.

Now you're talking E, forget the delisted hacks from other clubs .That is a pretty fair line up and with Walters,Pav/Clark(Yes Clark ) Balla down around the goal square its a pretty healthy set up.

I've got $100 riding with someone on here, (can't remember who), that he'd be playing forward on his return.

I know some think the training watchers big note our selves by posting that we have the occasional chat with the players but here goes anyway .We had a chat with Mora on one of his last training runs before the season ended and he was adamant that he was good to go and would be back next season. Obviously he wants to feel confident and give that impression but he didn't have to give us that info .So a beer with your hundred would be nice.:D

Great info Salim.
There would not be a more reflexive athlete in terms of diagnosis and assessment of his physical condition;Mora's no dumb bunt.If he's said that I'll match the ton on the bar and we'll havabloodylarf!!

Lloyd said as much on the ABC...but I get the impression the club is still deciding...I reckon he'll be delisted and re rookied

Usually I am fine about shifting guys to the rookie list, but probably not this time. We look like drafting more guys in than is ideal in a draft that lacks depth. Not only does it mean that anyone drafted at selection 96ish is even more speculative than usual, it means Morabito is more attractive to other clubs to take a punt on.

This whole, 'this draft lacks depth' does my head in. In fact it's bullshit.

For every supposedly shallow draft there are gems dug up in the 3rd round and massive busts from the Top 10. It all comes back to our ability to identify talent.

Absolutely no different to a supposedly 'deep' draft.

This whole pre-draft analysis has gone way over the top and is polluted by peoples opinions who have no credibility, factual analysis to back up their opinions nor historical accuracy from their previous 'predictions.

In fact it has become an industry by itself. An industry that is about as useful as Human Relations, Marketing and Occupational Health and Safety.

Groups of good young footy players barely differ from year to year.

I agree with this. Was looking at figures for some of the key forwards we should have supposedly chased. None of them managed much more than a goal a game last season. I think Clarke Tabs or Apeness Griffen can average around the same if they play every game next season. We have options to set up a very fast mobile forward structure. I am very positive about next year and it would be wonderful if Morobito makes it back for the first game

Lucky for us we have such shitty low draft picks that we can either confirm the myth that this draft pool is shallow or confirm the myth that we have an innate ability to identify quality late round talent. Either way we avoid the reality of how shitful our recent run of top end draft picks have been (jury still out on Weller IMO).
