I walked past Brent Stanton at the Byron Bay Beach hotel a few weeks ago, and did a double take, he did also and for a moment I thought I was famous. I said "hey you're Brent Stanton" just to remind him who he was. He smiled and agreed with me, then I said "don't worry I'm a bombers fan".

It was a Sunday arvo with the sweet soul sounds of Lisa Hunt when I saw him again about an hour later with his kids, I said to him "are they your kids?" he smiled and nodded yes.
I was there too, can't believe you didn't remind me who I was

Drove my piece of shit Mazda 323 into the back of Russell Robertson's Holden Astra Convertable on St Kilda road. Thankfully the damage wasn't too bad and we parted ways.

I like to think he didn't put in a claim because I happened to be a Dees fan...Thanks Robbo.

EDIT: Just remembered I saw a whole bunch of Dees players at the Royal Derby on Cup Day in 2013.

My Pies mate went up to James Frawley and told he was a w***er and a shit c**t for playing for Melbourne.

When my mate went to the toilet I apologised to Frawley only for him to tell me to "get your mate out of here before I punch his face in".

I obliged.

Kelvin Moore works at the sporting globe in Richmond.
Campbell Brown came in for a meal when i was in there as well. (he is a lot smaller in real life that what you would expect)

Very boring in Brisbane.

Tommy Rockliff came into the pub I managed (Albion Hotel) with some non-footy mates. They were all punting hard in the TAB and he sat there and sank a heap of XXXX Golds looking completely disinterested. Can put away beer but.

Stefan Martin came into my bottleshop once and bought 1.25lt Diet Coke, was astounded when I asked how the boys were. talked about his suspension for punching a West Coast backman by accident. He really loved that somebody recognised him - hair flick and all

Walked past Gaz jnr in Torquay, he struts.

About 25 years ago Johnny Platten came to a primary school where his kid went to down the road and played kick to kick with us (actually was pretty cool).

About 8 years ago I saw Travis Cloke walking with friends at Doncaster Shoppingtown.

About 4 years ago I saw Dustin Martin drinking a beer at a beer garden in Prahran.

On Sunday I saw Chris Grant walking with his wife and two children to a Yarraville cafe.

Best story:

About 3 years ago my friends and I were riding our bikes down by the beach and I saw Kurt Tippet walking on the other side of Beaconsfield Parade at Albert Park. I was looking at his calves. They were abnormally large. I pointed out to my friends the size of his calves. Kurt saw us looking at his calves, not knowing what to do he kept looking back at us until the momentum of the bikes moved us from Kurt's gaze like the wind moves a leaf swiftly towards the piercing blue sky.

A few years ago I aaw Travis Cloke at Bar Bosh in Knox, he paid for his meal and I was behind him

In 2014 I was having dinner with the ladyfriend at the Duke on the table next to Jelwood and some his mates and his missus, it was around finals time

Unfourtunetly never really met any players.
Well i did kind of meet Richo (when he was playing) at Melbourne Airport once.

My brother has met Jack Riewoldt and got a sherrin signed.

Anyone got any stories about North players?

Chris Judd held a door open for me.

Got in a lift as James Hird left, only for him to realise he'd gotten off on the wrong floor, and had to get in as the doors were closing.

Walked past Wayne Carey in South Yarra.

Bumped into Tom Bell in a Vietnamese pork roll shop.

Boarded a plane with Nigel Smart.

Saw Brett Ratten in a cafe and had a chat.

Walked past a Wakelin in a corridor.

Spoke to Kouta in a car park.

Thrilling.

Me and Gary Ayers were both walking down the footpath of commercial road Prahran once, going in opposite directions, so we crossed each other, he had black sunnies on.

Not sure if I posted this in this thread, but I hung out with a very drunk Matty Larkins at 'the club' on Smith st, was around 5 years after his playing days, still wore the North jacket which was kinda sad, nice bloke though, we got hammered.

years ago in bali tim mcgrath and another geelong player (milburn maybe?) wound up at my hotel pool bar drinking and chatting up a couple of lady guests at 4am. i was hammered but recognised him. he asked me what my room number was and tried to charge a few drinks to it... but i'd given him a fake room number. cheap prick.
