When fit Tarrant is an all australian defender, while Mundy only missed two games out of around 150, is in close to All Australian form and only 25.

Considering that this draft is weaker than normal (all 17 year olds have been taken out of the draft) i consider the following trade values fair.

Tarrant
Pick 18-25
Or Pick 25 -32 + Young Depth Player (e.g. Houli )
Or Solid Young player (Armfield or Hawks young defender - Stratton??) + Draft Pick ........

Mundy
Top 5 Draft Pick (Very unlikely)
Pick 10-20 + Young Solid Player
Pick ... + Potential Above Average player

For people who consider i have over rated freo players,

Tarrant could transform a team from 5-8 to a premiership contender. Yes i know he has had injuries, but i dont believe these are the type of injuries that will hold back his career.

Mundy is close to All Australian, still improving, doesnt miss any games and a clearance king and has 150-200 good games left in him. You would be very happy if you could guarantee that your top 10 draft pick would play 150+ games at all Australian level.

Plus draft picks are very speculative, while many top 10 players turn out to be guns, others only play under 50 games.

If you disagree, give me a reason.

Any Hawks, Carlton or St Kilda supporters suggest a players you would consider trading for tarrant e.g. West Australians.

Any teams interested in Mundy, can you please suggest a player you would be willing to part with. Please consider the above guide to what is reasonable.

NO MORE THAN ONE PLAYERS per trade.

Any players suggested must be in Fremantle best 22.

Exactly WHEN was Tarrant an All-Australian defender ??? I keep on hearing this, but his ONLY AA appearance has been as a Forward for Collingwood ................

He is 30 yr's old, and suggested mid way through the year he was thinking about retiring IF his body didn't hold up. But you want a 1st rd pick for him :eek::eek::eek::eek:. He will be lucky to play 1 more year, and is just looking for a retirement paycheck ala Bradshaw last year ............

The ONLY way I would be happy for Tarrant to get to Carlton is if he nominated us as his prefered destination and came via the PSD. The ONLY team above Carlton that I think MIGHT make a play for him if he entered the PSD is North Melbourne, but even they are getting fairly well settled down back. Hawks pick after us in the PSD, as will Collingwood, so IF you want to come to Carlton Tarrant, come via the PSD ;););)

Here's to hoping Carlton give up a first rounder for Tarrant, but even I think they wouldn't be that careless.

Unfortunate for Freo that the only club that may have once relinquished a first rounder for an injury plagued 30 year old is the only club they can't trade with.

I agree with coryne.

Taz has only ever been an AA once- with Collingwood as a forward. He has never been an AA defender. It's like suggesting Presti is an AA defender, despite never having made the team and being a very good FB.

As for Taz's trade value, he will only command a second round pick maximum. Freo will not get a first, nor will they get offered a young player like Stratton.

Freo really need to re-evaluate Taz's trade value because nobody is going to pay premium for a 30yr old.

Tarrant is not worth anything more than a late 2nd rounder to an early 3rd rounder. To suggest he is worth a first round pick is utter rubbish.

Mundy is a good player, but not a top 5 pick. Especially considering GC have 4 of those 5 picks and WC are not going to trade pick 4 for Mundy.

You will most likely get a mid first round pick and maybe an upgrade on your 3rd round pick for him at the very best.

Tarrant: pick 30-35

Reason: Best guide is Aker (pick 30-something) and Hall (pick 40-something). Shortage of genuine tall backs available raises his value a bit, but then it falls back with 1-2 years left plus some niggling injuries.

Mundy: pick 11-15

Reason: Some teams really need these mid-20s guys who are big bodied and can use the ball well. While 11 might be a bit high, the GC raiding of 17 year olds will reduce the overall draft quality slightly. Given the rubbish he has copped from many Freo supporters over the last few years, there should be plenty eating humble pie as they attempt to talk up his value.

For Mundy.......... Sewell and a draft pick not a first round.

For Tarrant a late pick maybe 3rd round, he is 30 injury prone and on the verge of retirement, anything more that is an absolute steal by Fremantle.

Tarrant - Hawthorn have sought him out, Carlton too. I wouldn't be surprised if either club offers a late 1st Round/2nd Round Pick for him given they have liabilities such as Jamesion & Murphy in their backlines.

Mundy - I can see Essendon offering Pick 8 for him. He's a good to very good player (B/borderline A Grader) who is underrated but not worth the $500 K he is after.

Tarrant is 29. And I think what go_the_dockers was trying to say was that he has been in all Australian contention, and spoken about as being in all Australian form for the past 2 years in defense. He is certainly all Australian quality down back. But he has a max of maybe 2 years left in him, that lessens his value.

I personally think his value is only there for a team ready to compete for a flag. That probably rules out teams like Carlton, North Melbourne, Melbourne, Essendon etc. He'll go in the second round, somewhere between pick 24-32 or a straight swap for a player.

He turns 30 in like 9 days .........................

I can't see why Mundy would want to leave. Being at an underperforming club for so long that now finally looks to be seeing some sustained success. I didn't think money was that tempting in the AFL, isn't it your dream just to play AFL, and shouldn't you feel in debt to the club that picked you.

Regardless, if he leaves he could set Fremantles premiership hopes back a year or two.

Tarrant for stratton+ pick?? get over yourself

If you wanted stratton it would cost you more like mundy,

Stratton is rated that highly, he isnt going anywhere. Almost untouchable

I havent seen a lot of stratton and did here is virtually untouchable.

As he was someone i was interested in + he was from WA i thought he may be available at a price, although i didnt know he was that highly rated.

Are there any other hawthorn players you would suggest?

I saw an article saying hawthorn wouldnt trade away there first pick, so assuming they do want tarrant the trade is more than likely going to be pick 36 + player x?

Essendon would love to get Mundy. He would automatically become our second best mid. Pick 30 would be too low, while pick 8 is very high. I guess it depends on whether the Dons feel if someone like a Brodie Smith presents better value than Mundy.

Yea he is a cult figure at the hawks.

Players who would be trade bait (Ladson, Osborne, Dowler, Moss, Taylor, Morton, Muston) mabye sewell, lewis but prob not.

Now im not saying these players are worh whatever, just giving you a list of players who are bait, some are useless to hawthorn but certain clubs might need them.

He is 30 in a week. Early 3rd round at most.

His age is largely irrelevant. When you're exposed in a final / in a season where you came short, you tend to pay over the odds for that weakness. Jamieson & Bower in your backline mean you can't go from a mid table side to a top 4 side.

Historically, with McLean for Pick 11 & Warnock for Nick Suban, Carlton have paid over the odds in trades.

Warnock is an over the odds trade? You think Carlton could not get better than pick 24 for him now?

Stop the trolling as its very boring. Everytime I am on the draft forum you are posting about Warnock, McLean or Ball and then repeating it over and over in any trade deal.

You should be banned from this forum and be left on Bay13 where you belong.

Wouldn't worry about The Panther - next to HodgePodge the least credible poster on Big Footy. Never has anything of value to contribute.
