Pearce and Barlow have both gotten a lot of it. I'd say Pearce has probably done more with it. Ibbotson looks like an absolute beast, very impressive half from him and Ballantyne, both are killing us. Wright is doing some good things and Warren hasn't done a lot but he's working his way in. Suban's been decent, but a bit quiet. DeBoer has very sexy hair.

Fantasy Freako emails will come out with the NAB challenge scores in them.

Ballantyne has very clean hands, is super quick, tackles well and is smart. Strongly considering him now.

Barlow is a ball magnet. He doesnt seem to be a great user of it but he has a good knack of getting contested ball, seems a good DTer, defs gonna have him in my lineup.

Waters looked terrible last night; totally out of touch. Anyone think he can get his form back to a place where he gets regular games early in the season?

It'll take him a few weeks to get up to speed with the game, but he's part of the Eagles' leadership group. If he's fit, he'll get games.

Barlow has just been plain impressive in the two NAB matches. One of those unique types that seems to have an extra second to execute cleanly and to advantage. Blind Freddy could see that.

Given that he remains injury free, there seems little doubt that he will be promoted to the senior list.

Consider strongly. ;)

Agree with Mr Young. How is Freos form in picking rookies the last 2 years; impressive recruiting. :thumbsu:

With Ladson, Waters and Hunt I'm thinking of starting one on the field and having the other 2 emergencies. I know these guys aren't basement price but I've got a bit of dosh left over and think these guys are as good cash cows as any other young defender at the 90k mark. Am I being stupid, should I just chuck in some young guys and improve a couple of other players?

Lets say the alternative is to have Maguire and Davis on the bench instead of Waters and Hunt. This means you have approx 120,000 less on the field or approx 30 points less per week. Over 6 weeks this is a loss of 180 points

Lets say after 6 weeks both Waters and Hunt increase to 280,000, and Davis and Maguire increase to 200,000. If you cash in both sets of players for 100,000K rookies you will have an extra 160,000 with Hunt and Waters which is then worth 40 points more for the rest of the year or 640 points so better off by 460 points.

So based on these assumptions it does make sense. And even more so given the doubt over whether Davis will get a game. If he doesnt then he provides no cash and no cover.

mmmm better change my team again

:eek::eek::eek:

86% efficiency last week and his decision making in tight tonight was excellent.

That's very high efficiency! Maybe what I should have said is that his possession to impact ratio is very high (ala Scott West). He is not like a Cyril Rioli whose every posession has a lasting impact on the game. He needs 20+ possies to play a decent game.

Nevertheless he seems quite a good pickup for Freo. And for my DTeam.

Good we will get another look at a few of those Port players. I don't think Nason is playing for Richmond! Isn't that the guy that did his knee?

He didn't do an ACL. He just hyper-extended it.

Anyone else hoping Port get torched this weekend from a DT point of view.

I have a number of their players pencilled in at this stage - but i learnt last year they tend to have a lot of receivers who are terribly inconsistent.

Hopefully if they get belted by 10 goals i'll get a better gauge on who's likely to stand up all season!

My experience is the Capt. Dom Cassisi stands up when his team falls apart ... if that helps :)

They seem to be playing a completely style of football this year though, but who knows if that will stand up when they play a decent side though who puts them under pressure.

They've barely been behind in either game so far.

I'm mainly watching Westhoff and Stewart :)

I'm not sure it's a different style - perhaps just more enthusiasm

I'm basically watching those two as well - along with Hitchcock

I'd just like to see that if you get thumped - someone like Westhoff can still manage 60. I got burnt last year by Pearce who was either 100 or 30
