Hard to stand out when you aren't given the opportunity.

28 shots at goal in 14 games is hardly dud material.
He is only 22.

Are you f*cking serious ........that stat is the definition of dud :p

So that means last season he averages 4 kicks, 2 marks and maybe 1.1 and that is anything but crap

22 year olds should be entering their prime football years; Shultz is not a good forward

Remember what Brown, Pavlich and Lloyd we're like at 22 ?????

Expect him to be delisted/traded at the end of 2008 ;)

Father/Son selection. Played mainly forward in under 18's. Kicked around 60-70 goals that year but was told his body was much stronger than his opponents which allowed him to push them aside easily.

Came to the club, a bit overweight carrying 'baby fat'. Has had problems with stress fractures most of the time he's been here. In shape now, looking lean. Has broad shoulders. Is very quick off the mark with a great pair of hands and a big leap. Somehow knows how to find the ball and has a presence about him.

Will be a hff or key position player but i feel once he gets kms in his legs will become a part-time midfielder later in his career.

Related to Courtney Johns ??? :p

Probably only Lions supporters rate him highly... he did kick 7 or 8 goals on them i think once but hasn't done much since. He, along with a few kpp this season are on there last chances. He'll need to have a good year to be kept on the list, thats for sure. Tigers are in a transission phase so they'll be culling a few in next couple years.

He did actually, think it was on Mal Michael too :p

Nah it was Leppa... Mal was on Richo. I remember that red hair and those gloves standing on the mark. He tried everything to put him off his kick.. if only he tried that hard trying to stop the mark ::thumbsu:

Kicking a bag on Leppa/Michael  I can hear that story being told at Coburg's training sessions already :D

They're great forwards.

Where did I say he was great?
Where did I say he was good?

I said he can play.
He can.

Of course he'll be delisted, because he'll walk.
He would have been traded last year if Richmond had of come to the party.

Watch him pop up for Port next year and become a solid contributor.

Remind me how his record is any worse than kicked 7 goals in 14 games at the same age?

I think Schulz could well amount to something.

As its stands now, he's got two things standing in his way; Richo and the coach.

I think Richmond have been far too Richo centric in recent years and it's resulted in Richo clogging up most of their forward line. It works alright for guys like Pettifer and Brown, but really makes it tough for a second tall forward unless he's a goal square wrestler, of which Schulz is not. Schulz just hasn't had the space to move.

Terry Wallace is standing in his way by doing nothing to alleviate that problem, not keeping him consistently in the team and ultimately, not trading him. He probably would've been a good fit at Port Adelaide.

Am I supposed to guess who the player with those remarkable stats are? :D

Carlton supporters are very quick to pump up their own kids and use being poorly coached as an excuse for limited performance.

Would have thought you'd at least be consistent.

Has Longy been smoking something through his digeridoo again

All I asked for was who's stats you put up ?

We'll have to play youth as over half our list is just that.

Expect the mid tier players to play as they are the ones who need to step up more consistenlty and start to fill the void i.e. McVeigh, Lovett, NLM, Hille, Watson,Winderlich, McPhee etc.

Fletch, Mal and Lloyd in cotton wool - Scotty will probably play as that guy can't not as with Pev (workhorses who love it) and JJ needs time on the ground after the horro year he had.

Of the kids - I'm hoping the 06 and 05 batch all play - maybe an 07 or tow but mainly them as they are the ones that need the gametime this year.

Pevers - I think I've already heard Knights say that the interchange rules will rule Lucas out.
As long as he is right for Round 1, I dont mind seeing Lucas out of the team. Im sure he would enjoy playing a game or two, but seeing him show something on the football field isnt necessary for Bombers fans, and more important is seeing some of the kids we expect to have in our best 22 by the end of the season.

I want Essendon to win the NAB cup. Or at least 2 games. we need to get the new kids into a winning culture, and then hope it carries on into the H&A season.

It would also be good if Lloyd could have lots of game time. If he finds form he will carry it into the H&A away season and this would be really good for us.

Just play the kids. We know what the guys who have spent 5+ years in the system are capable of what we need to know is how far away the kids are. If we get our asses kicked by triple figures who cares? Lloyd and co can get match time in the NAB challenge series, let's just play the kids against some half decent comp and see what they have.

I want to win as many games as possible in NAB cup cause more TV overage

Essendon dont need to worry about that do they?? plenty of members and exposure i would of thought, good chance for the bombers to play some kids and knights to try his game plans, good clash against the lions
