Roo had a stellar 2nd last half of the season but not a good enough 1st half as a player and captain. If he continues this form as a player and a leader into the finals and again next season then yes IMO he will move into the top string of captains in the league.

The HUNs' team, IMO, lacked leadership.

For AA Captain - Harley

Definitely add Judd to "best captains" category. Did well at West Coast and I think he played a major role in the Blue's revival this year. While their youngsters improved dramatically, they had a fantastic role model and captain who lead by example. Not saying he should get the AA role though, probably on field output needed to be higher.

Would like to see Roo get it. Plays his heart out week in - week out and has a genuine passion for the club.

I never said pav never dished off the footy, but he has been heavily critisised for playing a selfish role this year, i just don't see him gettin AA captain.. but we'll see...

Wow. So to be named All-Australian captain you should be one of the 16 AFL captains. This certainly narrows the field. Of the 40 A/A squad members, only Harley, Mitchell, Riewoldt, Kirk, Brown, Judd and Pavlich are AFL skippers. None of those players are certainties to make the final cut. Let's assume that only Mitchell, Kirk and Pavlich make it. You want to ignore 19 other players and choose between three people only?

What's it mean to be All-Australian captain anyway? It doesn't mean you're the best footballer. You never have to actually captain the team. It's all a crock of shit, if you ask me. They should just pick the best 22 footballers and do away with all the trimmings.
