Someone started it a couple of weeks back. Probably Hagdorn or someone similar mentioned Fyfe was seen checking out Carlton. It seems it has been passed around and resurfaced. Sounds like BS like a lot of things this trade period.

Maybe someone seen Fyfe getting passed a brown paper bag - and they just assumed that he was off to Carlton?

Absolutely agree, but like Dangerfield if he leaves this year you'd get a bargain because the alternative is getting donuts next year.

It won't be donuts next year either. And if you seriously think Fyfe is any chance of being traded this year then you are delusional. A chance next year maybe but this season not going to happen.

I see know why Carlton want two first round picks for a Contracted Gibbs...
They will need at least 5 first round picks for a Contracted Fyfe... ;)

Carlton trade logic!

Anything can happen in trade periods these days...no one is immune.

Who would have thought Mitchell, Lewis, beams, Gibbs, Dangerfield, judd, buddy etc would leave

Mitchell I'll give you, that was out of left field. But there was so much leading up to Dangerfield, Judd and Buddy leaving. No one was really surprised by them. There is literally nothing to suggest Fyfe is leaving this year except from twitter accounts that only morons believe. So keep dreaming.

If CFC make a play it will likely be as a free agent in 2017

I suspect, like every other young gun FA since free agency began, nat will resign:
Unless Nat is SERIOUSLY disgruntled at freo, and/or someone offers him genuine stupid money (buddy style 10mill).

History has so far shown over and over- that unless either of those things happen, he will resign well before becoming a free agent.

Clubs that wait around for a fyfe or a martin etc to become free agents will be disappointed over and over again.

Collingwood did it right trading hard for a guy like Treloar.

Sure it's way more expensive than free, but at least it has a realistic chance of happening.

I agree if you want a player go for it dont wait. But i dont think we are going for him. Sure wait till he is a free agent see if ya get a bite but dont throw to much at him. Cant hurt to ask but i hope we dont go down the fyfe path. i think we will have to sacrifice to much to get a player of his caliber. Plus carlton as said we cant quick fix and go for a messiah so i dont think thats a path we are willing to go down.

I think Fyfe will stay, but surely this conversation in it's self is part of the build up or similar to the hype, that made it obvious to you that dangerfield, Judd, and Buddy were leaving?

If he remains unsigned until the end of the year. I would be very worried if I were you.

Can you imagine the media circus come late July-August

Slobbo will not be able to contain himself on 360

Agreed.

The crazy thing is probably 4 of the best 5 players (Ablett, Judd, Buddy & Dangerfield) of the 15 years have all moved clubs. Fyfe could be the next .

He may well be, but I am of the belief if he did wan't to leave he would've approached the club in time for this years trade period, rather than bail next year.

Plus he will be RFA meaning we can match any offer.

It is what it is though and I expect speculation until he re-signs or announces he is going to test the water

To be honest. I think Fyfe genuinely does not know what he is going to do yet.

One thing is for sure, he will give Freo every opportunity to prove themselves and their direction.

If he is comfortable with the direction that Lyon is taking the club, and can see a premiership on the horizon he will stay.

If Freo come last, and look to be a basket case without any light at the end of the tunnel. He will probably leave.

This upcoming season will be very important in Fremantles rebuild.

The big difference with Judd & Danger was that they were going home. Buddy & Ablett got grandfather contracts that could only occur because of COLA & concessions at the time.

I can't see another club trumping Freo with a significantly bigger contract that also has a state of the art training base & is obviously going to be successful. He would also be leaving just before our new 60,000 seat stadium opens, another reason to want to stay.
