Was Angus Brayshaw given the same recommendation? Did he even go before the panel?
I haven't seen anywhere that Brayshaw is going to be assessed by the panel. I read somewhere that Murph's family requested he be assessed by the panel, Brayshaw's family were more concerned with having Maynard drawn & quartered.

Your heart is in the right place on this, and I support your instinct to protect the lives of players.
I trust that the people who will review Murph's case are of the same inclination and more qualified than us to advise correctly.
The good Lord help us and Murph if they are not better qualified than "us"

Harsh.

I've got (1) my certificate in CPR / first aid and (2) access to Google.

I'd rate my advice regarding concussion just slightly lower than a brain specialist's*.

* (not a rookie brain specialist, one who has devoted 2-3 decades of his life to the field)

I've seen you driving around on weekends....

So in the meantime we should take medical advice from kindersmock?

I'm just pointing out that these are same doctors who medically cleared Paddy McCartin to continue playing... A guy who was getting concussed from being bumped in the shoulder, and from his chest hitting the ground too hard when he dived... and these doctors said it was fine for him to continue playing AFL.

So take their recommendations with a grain of salt.

Saw a news item on mouth guards that measure bumps and it seems they have been around for 4- 5 years.

The item reported that some NRL and AFL players are using them, I wonder whether Murphy is one.

I understand that medical advice comes from a position of incomplete knowledge. But on medical matters I'm still going to back medical advice from pros over non-medical advice from Googlers who think one anecdote is definitive where they've decided that a bloke gets knocked out too easily based on a self created vibe of too easily.

I don’t know if he uses one that measures bumps, but mouthguards are shown to reduce the incidence of concussions… of course all AFL players wear one anyway.

Are you suggesting that someone who is objectively highly intelligent and who has devoted decades of their lives to studying a subject might have an edge on my internet search skills?

If you know someone who works at a hospital you’d be amazed at the huge amount of extremely dumb mistakes doctors make.

Once they cleared Mccartin to play you should be stretching your head, moronic decision based on our poor understanding of cte/ the brain and a lack of common sense.

Have you thought this through?

If you know anyone in any line of work you'd be amazed...
If you've read anything on social media...

Are you trying to tell me doctors are human beings? Surely it cannot be

I'm not going to ask a physio as you're better off with google and random people on the internet - could you share some of these head stretches that you're talking about.

Was it in reference to Ndebele neck stretching? Which is really shoulder lowering? Maybe this is the way to get the bump out of the game?

I hope not - I'm hoping to develop a more explosive eyebrow raise and will need to loosen up to avoid muscle strain.

I don't know what will happen with Murph but I do know that he has a glass jaw and and that's not a good thing to carry around the football field
I agree. If it was one of my kids I'd be seriously apprehensive about them continuing. Not to mention it's not fair to other players that may cause damage in normal football acts.
I laughed when I read this post because I replied to a Richmond supporter about the Maynard incident when it happened. They were saying that given Brayshaws history blah blah blah. I replied saying that the player involved shouldn't come into the decision as it's not Maynard's fault Brayshaw has a glass jaw. I then got banned for a week by a Melbourne mod stating that saying an injured Melbourne player has a glass jaw will not be tolerated.

We (the Club) might have to save Murphy from himself unfortunately. Duty of care.

10 times already on the concussion scale is not good. Even halving that. Wish wasn’t the case because Murphy has become a stellar player.

At least has a Premiership medallion now.

Seems like that Melbourne mod has a glass jaw as well
