Bolton's great and all, but how much fun would today have been with 10,11 and 14?
Three years ago we had roughly 10,11 and 14 and ended up with Amiss, Johnson and Erasmus. Amiss is a gun but the other 2 are unknowns at this stage. Picks are too overrated on big footy.

This would be bad for us. We need two of Whitlock, Shanahan and Armstrong off the board by our pick...
Not necessarily. Port more likely to go tall if a good tall is still on the board. WCE keen on Shanahan if available. Freo are reportedly keen on Armstrong. Richmond are playing a dicey game - if they think the key talls are still going to be available at 18. GWS also interested in talls.

If Richmond select Berry for example at 11 and leave the suite of talls on the board - it increases likelihood of Port and potentially WC going tall. Leaving someone Richmond overlook at 11 and also the other players that WC/Port overlook for the unexpected drop of say Armstrong and Shanahan.

If we draft Berry we've used three first rounders in one off season for small forwards. Then there's Narkle for free.

We've delisted Emmett - everyone else wasn't remotely close to being a small forward.

It'd be borderline negligent to add another small forward after that and ignore other needs (after adding Bolton) that aren't all that far behind.
I'm not tearing my hair out if we don't chase a pure mid.

Berry plays in the forward line and midfield rather than being specifically a small forward. In his videos he shows plenty of midfield ability (and is the same height as Ivisic who was mentioned earlier as a midfield option). At our 2nd other dual position midfielders could be available; eg Hannaford, Hynes, Davis, Ough. But they all offer strength forward of centre as well

Simpson is one of the future midfield options not mentioned before. He doesn't really look like a small forward.

The club seems to think Narkle is better than anyone we could grab late in the draft.

If Longmuir doesn't give significant midfield/cb opportunities to Bolton, Jackson and possibly Chapman then I'd be disappointed.

Next year we seem certain to bring in 2 NGA players with midfield potential, and Robinson the year after.

The single reason we crashed and burned this season is lack of tall depth.

Has us taking Reid, but what I find interesting is the reason why he's got Port taking Berry just before us:

"I’m a Port guy and I’ve ummed and ahhed over this one for a bit. Port have been looking at a range of players, but especially talls. But that being said there’s something to be said for their multiple meetings with Joe Berry and the interest Robbie Gray has had in him. For context, the last time Gray was this interested in a player, Port drafted him. His name was Zak Butters. Enough said."

Murphy Reid has had Bartel/Sidebottom comparisons, why is he sliding out of the top 10?

People tend to make unrealistic comparisons with superstar players and ignore that they are more likely to never reach that level. You will almost never get a comparison for a top 5-10 player with the likes of Toumpas, Phillips, Billings, etc, when that could be a perfectly reasonable comparison. Lukosius screamed Jack Watts, but people were saying Nick Riewoldt.

Can't wait for tomorrow when Sheehan and Ablett are waxing lyrical on the Foxtel coverage about how Pick 64 reminds them of a young Bontempelli or Gary Ablett Jr.

I think you've got unrealistic expectations of Frederick tbh.

He's over a goal a game and plays most of his footy on the HFF.

Pretty much every opposition fan I know would gladly take him off us. Same with Switta although the criticism around goals kicked is probably more valid imo.
I am expecting more production from Frederick with Bolton forward.

Simply for the angry reacts...

1. Richmond - Sam Lalor
2. North Melbourne - Finn O'Sullivan
3. Carlton - Jagga Smith
4. Adelaide - Harvey Langford
5. Brisbane (bid) - Levi Ashcroft
6. Melbourne - Bo Allan
7. Richmond - Sid Draper
8. St Kilda - Xavier Lindsay
9. Gold Coast (bid) - Leo Lombard
10. Essendon (bid) - Isaac Kako
11. GWS (trade with Saints) - Tobie Travaglia
12. Melbourne - Alix Tauru
13. Richmond - Josh Smillie
14. Richmond - Joe Berry
15. West Coast - Taj Hotton
16. Port Adelaide - Murphy Reid
17. Fremantle -

It's not impossible. Maybe a team like Sydney looks for a trade up with us to jump ahead for a tall?
Hynes. An aggressive, goal kicking midfield/forward works for me. Fantastic addition to our mix.

Yeah sure, but today would be fun AF. Because today, they are all 6xAA 300 gamers.

Because according to draft experts, you can routinely pick up Danger in the 40s and N.Riewoldt in the teens every year.

Steve Buscemi is a hack and not funny
I hope your real name isn't Bob Simonds.
steve buscemi people to kill GIF

Or we could see…

14. Richmond - Berry
15. West Coast - Hotton
16. Port Adelaide - Reid

Leaving us with either a tall or we pick from that next tier.
If this happens, I think we will try and trade with WB.
Our 14(17) & 30 (33)
for WB 17(20) & 25(28)

Allows WB to jump ahead of GWS.
We can get Hannaford at 20.
and (28) steal a WA player the pick before WC(29).

For me depth in the next 2-3 years is making sure we have a number of players developing and hopefully ready to take over.

We've added plenty of KPDs and genuine rucks in 2022 and 2023. I'd almost say too many tbh. Having said that those players aren't ready day one ever - you don't go and draft even more just because those guys aren't ready. You've got to give a chance for them to develop and if it doesn't work we unfortunately need to trade or look at the state leagues.

I'm more than happy enough to draft almost everything else as long as we don't put too many eggs in one basket. I would almost consider drafting any two players that are very similar as overkill tbh.
