Sure am. Jaren Carr during his press conference said exactly that. I also read that the running program was also mapped out by Peter Bell.Peter who ?

YepYep heard that on gettable this morning.
WC: rated Berry behind Allan
Port: rated Murphy behind Berry but ahead of Allan
Freo: rated Murphy ahead of Allan
Also said that some clubs ahead of WC and Port were interested in Berry.
Twomey rated Murphy the steal of the first round. He ranked him 6th.
As mentioned we were also keen on Dolan. I wouldn’t call Nicholls a reach. Twomey ranked him in the 31-40 range. Twomey ran a next best 31-40 range around Aug and Nicholls along with most of the other names selected in that 31-40 range also listed.
Seems the general feel on this board from many that they weren’t happy with our draft haul. The two players we got were ranked highest at selections.
Many other clubs (Port included) used their picks in the top 40 and then essentially tapped out aside from a late F/S academy pick (Adelaide, Freo, GC, Hawks and Melbourne all come to mind).
Jaren Carr is the unknown but seems we have had him on our radar for some time. Very likely it was us that told Jaren not to nominate for MSD. Directly after the WAFL season Peter connected him with NOD for specialised running program. He has been doing some work on his speed and jump since end of WAFL season. His next area to work on is putting on some muscle bulk.
Can we start a Melbourne death ride thread next year
Oof. Late to the party as usual but have we brought in a Rowan Marshall like ruck? He looks good and better than Knobel. This could've been the hopeful outcome that eventuated for the lm team. I'm onboard. This kid is more agile.
It may be a stupid rule, but our team could have just not traded 10 & 11 in the first place, it was naive of them to think they could just trade back up with 14 & 30, no one was going to do that trade.Fremantle, too, got the player it had in its sights in Reid, the classy midfield playmaker. Allan, Berry and Hotton were also in the Dockers' mix, but with Reid remaining, they used the pick on one of the best performed players of the draft campaign. The Dockers were restricted in their attempts to move picks as well, given AFL rules stipulate a club can't bring in picks they have already traded to a club in a return deal. It meant they couldn't access swaps with Richmond because of the picks moved in the Shai Bolton deal.
This rule sucks in that context
If we really were going to pick Reid then it worked out we couldn't trade with them anyway but if we would've addressed a higher need first then that sucks
We wanted Bolton and I reckon we made the right call thereIt may be a stupid rule, but our team could have just not traded 10 & 11 in the first place, it was naive of them to think they could just trade back up with 14 & 30, no one was going to do that trade.
What do you like better? We wanted Bolton and I reckon we made the right call there
Tigers were holding out on everyone and it wasn't a pleasant period for their list management team due to unfortunate circumstances.
If we wanted Bolton then we had to trade those picks in the end, I'm happy to have Bolton
I would've picked differently with Richmond's picksWhat do you like better?
Boltan and Reid
or
Hotton, Faull and Trainor.
Reidy and Hotton cancel each other outWhat do you like better?
Boltan and Reid

Hotton, Faull and Trainor.
I’m happy with what we got, just don’t think it’s worth complaining about the afl “no trade backs” of picks already traded. We wanted Bolton and I reckon we made the right call there

Oh hell yes.So we're happy that 10,11,18

I will happily accept Richmond finishing 2nd last if it means WC get the spoon again. The Richmond death ride is probably going to get quite boring I suspect.
I enjoyed the ups and downs of the death ride thread this year tbh. Much more entertaining than knowing you have the worst teams pick all year.
Yes, can't see that happening unfortunately.I will happily accept Richmond finishing 2nd last if it means WC get the spoon again.
I think the no trade backs was a poor thought out rule to stop the west coast and Sydney loophole tbhI’m happy with what we got, just don’t think it’s worth complaining about the afl “no trade backs” of picks already traded.
I also think they thought it would be easy to jump back up.
If Twoomey is to believed we would have taken Reid with pick 11 anyway, so effectively the trade was 10,18 for Bolton and 11 for Reid, which is what we all thought was fair leading into the trade period.
Baker would have been better for us in 25 but I feel like we wouldn’t be able to afford Kosi then so maybe in 12 months time having Kosi & Reid is a much better place. So we're happy that 10,11,18

Added the 2024 3rd rounder we coincidentally traded to Richmond to upgrade our second round pick received from Pies for Schultz in order to swoop on Simpson. So it was:
Our R1
2x R2 (Ports R1)
Schultz (Pies R1)
F3 to upgrade Schultz pick to nab Simpson.
For:
Bolton
Simpson
Reid
1x R3
Good business.
