What about O'Callaghan Park at Zillmere.
Didn't QAFL take over the lease after stripping Zillmere of their State League Licence and giving it to "Club of the Year" Aspley in 2008 !
Rooms far more expansive than any State League club
Are you suggesting Aspley shouldn't be "Club of the Year"? I sense sour grapes SB.
I note your post of 11 April:
If every team believes they can play finals, which five teams will finish below Aspley this year !!. The Suns will only get better with each game and would have beaten NT in Darwin if it wasn't for the monsoonal rains. If Aspley lose this weekend they will be 0/3 you would have to be an extreme optimist to see them making the finals and haven't they got a lot of new injuries !!Answer: Redlands, Broadbeach, Lions, Southport and Labrador. It usually pays to be glass half full.

Just confused about criteria for club of year :
I would have thought that NT thunder with the minor premiership (2 and half wins clear of all teams), one goal away from Foxtel Cup semis and only 3rd year in comp would have seen them awarded trophy.
Cannot park around the ground.Get there early as it might be a long walkOn another subject, with the preliminary and grand finals being played at Redlands, ... infofmation I ve gathered, is that the Sharks Club is going all out to make these finals a huge success, promoting not only the games but the local community to attend.I think we might see the best finals crowds in attendance for a number of years. Which is well deserved for the participating clubs, and a big crowd just creates so much atmosphere, and gain more local exposure to the quality of the competition.

Chikka,
I dont think to many NT Thunder supporters are going to take their cars to the game and judging by the crowd at Morningside in the elmination final at Morningside their was not many supporters sitting in their cars watching that game and if they happen to make it (the usual suspects might get a little tired though carrying their esky's) and if its the Vultures who make it I am sure their supporters would not mind a short or long walk to clear their heads and have a home city chance to take the silverware home, it is a long way from my place but I must say surface wise, it is the best ground at the moment in Brisbane to host the Grand Final.
Look at the flip side - if it was held down the Coast (not much interest I would suspect) or it could be played at TIO Stadium which would gaurantee a crowd of at least 15,000 - 20,000 very biased NT supporters (one day it will have to be held there) - heaven forbid. In this instance, I would take the walk any day.
How would you rate the hornets year oddball? come a fair way in three years.
A$pley certainly improved their ladder positions and good to see a couple of Hornets ex-juniors are playing now.
Very interesting game on weekend - Vultures and Morningside
Vultures don't seemed to be worried about their recent form - one win from 4 (only win against GC Suns who appear to put the cue in the rack at half-time), returning from trip to Darwin which was played in extreme heat. Johnny James has played a lot of football in the past 5 weeks with lots travel
Panthers - unbeaten since trip to Southport (drew with Lions, beat Redlands, Broadbeach, Aspley and Suns), also only team in top 4 to have beaten Thunder this year. Older guard Lillico, shelton, Abey and Mugavin in exceptional form over past month.
x-factor is ground at Redlands - very tough game to call!!
Any other thoughts

News down this neck of the woods is that a few big name northern conference players are rumoured to have signed their life away to eastern conference clubs in search of bulk coin and cushy employment via the public service system. Who these players are we shall wait and see i guess.
Names?
No doubt the Eastern Conference will load up for next year after being shown to be off the pace against Swannies ressies and the Northern Conference sides this year. I reckon that they would be better served nabbing talent from Vic Country areas.
Morningside for mine will win narrowly on Sunday. Ash Evans is a big loss and all of the Panthers guns are firing. I will head up the M1 to see an entertaining contest hopefully.
Mt Gravatt to win in what will be tough encounter.
