Although his own supporters treated him like a bag of shit and spat at him, Neon Leon and Andrew Krakouer have agreed to clean up the filthy bigotry at traditionally racist club Collingwood.
Both have mandated that accused paedophile Joffa the campaigner is banned from the club forever ,and that his gold jacket to be burned with kerosene.
Finally some progress down at redneckville.

Looks like it’s gonna be short term employment is Steele Sidebottom’s actions on the weekend are anything to go by.

I wonder if this was the same redneck who was tweeting anti-semitic crap to Todd Goldstein last week..?

Very glad to see Leon and Andrew back in the fold. We did them wrong and if youre a decent human you make redress for your crimes.

Interesting Maxwell left the club at exactly this time: im certain he was an obstacle to progressing this matter.

He was a fine captain but for some reason he thought racism was OK "between mates". Its never been OK and im sick of it, if you make some dumb joke next thing you know the Waffen Hawks and GrossWestCoastlander incels start zeig heiling. Just call up your estranged father you twits.

I hope the other clubs start taking these kind of steps.

The "everyone else does it" defence certainly felt like a cracking come back in primary school. And yet even then rarely worked.

Some clubs are light years ahead of a tokenistic media splash.
Look have a go if you like.. It's just an anonymous site so neither if us is dropping names, but if youre the Carlton man i think you are you know your club has had some problems too. Not Hawthorn or Collingwood level, but spare me the light years.

I hate weve done whst we did, but im glad theyre trying to do something about it.

The few people I know still connected to the AFL tell me 15 clubs are watching this hoping it all goes away and they don't have to go through a similar process, because some of the places would fall apart.

Unfortunately thre gutless dogs at the AFL have gad theur heads up theur arses on this issue. Oakley screwed up the Winmar and Mcadam vilification instances but Michael Long to his eternal credit forced Oakley and Jackson to face up like nen, and they dId...something. More than Vlad and Gil the slimeballs, too busy covering up for Bomber.

We were in all that up to our eyeballs, and i saw a bit if it. I saw plenty at other games too. So did you.

Hard to believe Neon & Krakouer are letting themselves be exploited like this but then again they’re probably being paid triple what Treloar is for the gig whilst spending even less time than him in the place.
Yep. After both have been quoted saying they would never return to the club it’s fair to say they’ve been given an enormous amount of money to “clean up the place “ 🤣🤣

So you're determined to stick with everyone does it.

As for pointing the finger at Carlton? Rather than citing some vague "sources at the AFL" I will point first to Syd Jackson. Jackson fell in love with the joint, and how it treated him as a player and a person. While perhaps not greatly understanding them, Carlton was way ahead of its time in dealing with cultural needs including in-season leave of absence when required. The relationship continues to this day in both directions, with the Club still regularly involved in Jackson's substantial body of work on behalf of the indigenous community.

I have had the privelege of hearing these things from the man himself, but I'm not giving away any special confidences. He's on the public record many times.

At the same time Collingwood was a couple of decades away from even letting the their first indigenous player through the gate, and then only "so long as he conducts himself like a white person".

Fast forward to the other most famed example Eddie Betts. Shame for us there, in that we allowed the arseh*le ex Collingwood coach we were stupid enough to employ to find an excuse to push Eddie and a number of other indigenous kids out. Shame on him, shame on us. But nonetheless, Eddie still loves the joint and would be there right now as a mentor to non-indigenous kids and indigenous alike if Geelong hadn't dangled the opportunity to turn around a young player he had a special relationship with in front of him. And when he's finished at Geelong, Eddie will be back home.

Not all the same, not all similar, not even close.

It’s certainly true that Carlscum were ahead of their time in their treatment of indigenous players:

“Doug Nicholls achieved great heights as minister and activist, and later as Sir Douglas Nicholls, Governor of South Australia, but not before discrimination at Carlton nearly cost him a VFL career.

His teammates were not eager to play with an Aborigine. No one would willingly give him a rubdown. There were complaints that, because of his colour, he smelt”, wrote Mavis Thorp Clark in the biography “Pastor Doug”

In 2016, Carlton finally acknowledged – almost 90 years after the fact – that it had racially vilified Doug Nicholls.
“He was excluded … due to his Aboriginality,” CEO Steven Trigg said. “It’s worth thinking for a moment about how those actions must have made him feel.”

No I'm not saying that, spare me rhe lightyears bulldust. Better than us is a low bar. You could argue Essendon and Richmond as well as Carlton have done better than most but therws still problems, and not just from feral fans.

Without going into the details you know about John Elliott and his period as club president, and while he doesn't represent Carlton 100%, like McGuire they are part of the club.

If you dont know what im talking about fair enough carry on. The people I knew at Carlton are dead now, so my knowledge is a decade old.

So you're saying that Carlton might have acted in the 1920s in a way that Collingwood still does in the 2020s.

Great contribution.

lol “might”

Maybe you missed the part where it took until 2016 for Carlton to acknowledge and apologise for their shameful treatment of Sir Doug?

I believe you’re old enough to remember the abuse Robbie Muir copped one afternoon at Princess Park in 1984 too

Yet here you are white knighting the club and, by extension, its supporters

Reality is the VFL/AFL is a microcosm of Australian society and while we’ve improved over the last 50-odd years you don’t have to look to far to find blatant racism, sexism, homophobia etc. today

The Bay is further proof of that

One club is loved by its living previous indigenous players. Today.

Another is paying them out with token jobs. Today. To shut them up.

Good luck with your 5 minutes of the 1920s though. Its Really fine strategey. For dickheads.

Do you like white people or just black?
