why wouldn't he?
I guess if his job with SANFL was just a job we are ok.

No real passion to continue to help them in his role with us.

To be honest, I have not seen anything to suggest he is not being professional with us.

I am still cynical though....

Why do you need access to AO?

To be able to go to our club rooms on game day for beers/meals ya know a little bit of engagement..
Like football clubs are meant to be.

It's going to be a great training facility but it really could've been a massive statement as the big club in town to have direct access from the city to a decked out facility hosting all sorts of things and really put the club on the map to all.

Not even a single thought for how many thousands of members..Wow.

No reason the club, coaches and players could get all of that and members get a bar. If SANFL clubs can manage it, why can’t an AFL club?
Because it's a professional sporting organisation and having a bar is way down low on the list of priorities for a club to have when building a new facility.

But it’s a sporting organisation that relies on members right? And it might be low on their priorities but it is doable.

Look given its location I personally don’t care as I won’t go there for a beer, but if it was closer I would and I’d go to some away games there and watch it with mates and other Crows supporters. That option has been taken away.

Bugger, no more getting the hot goss from Brodie's dad...:p

That’s paranoid though

I've said all along that the proof will be in the pudding.

I am just waiting for something to convince me that he's not trying to protect his legacy at the SANFL while at the same time trying to be the President/Chairman of our club.

We should buy the Squatters Arms, turn it into a dedicated sportsbar and run shuttle buses.

Talk about arrogant and entitled when a brand new facility for both the AFL and AFLW groups is being built which will allow us to host AFLW games at a single, home location as well as potentially play SANFL games there too and give the players and coaches access to state of the art equipment and all a group of members can do is whine that there isn't a bar for them to go to.
The club should at the very least do some sort of feasibility study to see if it would be viable

There was talk of a cafe in the announcement so this could easily be what people want anyway

So you couldn't do that at the cafe they have already said will be there? Not sure what the difference is if the cafe looks out over the ground as it presumably will?

I don't need a traditional clubroom style venue, I'd probably never go, but would be nice if cafe was actually somewhere that did a really good breakfast or lunch and beer with a bit of atmosphere rather than the typical wraps and muffins you could find at a Bunnings cafe.

As long as you can get a drink on game day for any AFLW/SANFL/trials, which I would assume you can at places like what looks like could be a bar under the video screen and other places around the place.

The most important consideration is how easily members can consume alcohol when they arrive with their children for training on a weekday.
20+ years of following this football club will drive anyone towards alcoholism.

Well, it is just a trigger.
But really apart from the aquatic centre and the Brompton proposa, seeing we are definitely moving, are ther any other options?

Cafe's are for morning catch ups not footy clubs.
So West Coast, Fremantle, Brisbane, Essendon, etc all aren't real footy clubs because they don't have a bar at their training facility.

You going to head down for the meat tray raffle after the A grades game on Saturday?

Thank you, elite training facilities for our teams and greater community inclusion (community and aquatic centres etc.) are being addressed by the proposed Thebarton facility in a big way. It’s not about going somewhere solely to sink piss anymore. Presently surprised by today’s announcement and on with getting built!
