It's funny I used to hate the Power nickname but over time it grew on me

I always thought the logo was a 90s throwback and should have been changed years ago, to me, this is a definite upgrade.

I don't think we're dropping the Power nickname.

I just think that young supporters are not going to be drawn to this logo as they have been with the Power nickname and the fist-bolt image, according to the club over the years.

It is a bit bland but there a number of positives:

- mostly black and white, very little teal
- PBs
- no Power
- no lighting bolt and fist
- PA, which I think most of us would agree is the best branding choice and looks good in merch
- 1870

The overall design could do with some tweaking as some have pointed out. e.g. the position of 1870, the font used, etc.

Overall, I am OK with it.

You've pretty much encapsulated my thoughts. Black and White. Tick. Prison Bars. Tick. No POWER. Tick. Minimal Teal. Tick. No fist and lightning. Tick.

The "PA" is good for merchandising and I really, really hope it's the only thing, along with 1870 that appears on apparel.

Considering how negative I am about everything from the club at the moment, the fact I don't hate it is a good indicator.

The 1870 crammed hurts my soul. The PA should have just been the same as the monogram so we dont have to re-merchandise. But overall its growing on me.

Completely disagree with this - the thin monogram looks shit on basically anything other than a cap or t-shirt pocket. A/the bolder monogram has a broader range of uses and using it will, if anything, get people to buy new merchandise because they want the current version of whatever item.

I actually don't mind the logo and when you compare it to the cluster **** that has been the last few months at the PAFC it really could be worse...

Why is it pointless? This is a commemorative logo which reaffirms that we were founded 150 years ago. I'd much rather the small unobtrusive font than something that's in your face and smacks of 'look at us, we're a really old club'.

It's a good strong sports logo that ties together our past and present. I reckon it will age really well.

Each to their own - just my two cents.

The idea of including 1870 is fine as a way of highlighting the 150 years but the execution is poor IMO. Simply put it’s too small and oddly placed, it looks off-centre in relation to the shield.

Overall the logo is good and an improvement on what we have, but there are a few things that aren’t working well (the different sized letters is another).

I don't personally hate it - more indifferent - and I don't love Pirates either. My experience with kids is that if the club went with it to attract them, they were off the mark

I've slept on it, and I hate it. It's tacky. Compare it to the absolute class that was that black diamond logo someone here knocked up and you'll see what I mean.

I also feel like it's trying to fix a problem we never had (which is a massive lol considering the magnitude of problems we do have that aren't being acted on) and will only add more fuel to the accusations of an identity crisis.

PA, 1870, Port Adelaide Football Club and 150 years are all different. Granted the 150 years will only be used here and there before being dropped altogether, but that still leaves us with three.
