These coloured sponsor boxes are so wrong. Obviously, they ruin the cleanliness of a jumper. Yet in a practical and economic perspective, it's also flawed. Boxes make most logos harder to read. Grey especially (considering the lightness of the 'Virgin Australia').

I got a GC home guernsey with a subliminated Grey Virgin Australia back sponsor. Is it a 2012 or a late produced 2011?

Done and it's not there... or at least I didn't see it. Home was there, clash was there, and what may or may not have been the 'home jumper that never happened' that the club was launched with.

Hopefully the logo change is to make everybody stop saying "XBlades" and they'll revert back to the old logo and not screwed up guernseys.

I don't get why they'd make their logo look worse just so it can stand out more.

Disappointing. This jumper looks really good in terms of basic design.
But it is just ruined by Blades. The stripes are not stripes. They're bars. There is a single stripe on the left, but those unnecessary blue boxes are annoying. Mazda featured on the front of North's jumper without a box. I'd even argue that horizontal logo was more prominent. The current Mazda logo is stacked up, and so blends with the 'stripe'.
I've always hated the Kangaroos crest on the jumper. It ruins the stripe. But secondly, I just don't see the need for it. St Kilda have a history of using their shield on their jumpers. North Melbourne do not need it. Though I presume this is a fault on behalf of the club, not the manufacturer.
The collar is just terribly tacky looking. We all know that.
And the Blades material looks very prominent in that image. Do any clubs or players complain about the regular polyester? Why cheapen the material simply as a novelty trick?
Has this been confirmed as an away jumper? A clash? Or just a facebook 'unveiling'?

TBF the player issue material is a lot better than the retail, which feels like crap.

I'm guessing it's either a) they changing the way their logo looks on their merchandise and following what the West Tigers currently have in the NRL, or b) lack of brand recognition with many footy fans not knowing what the brand is as the logo isn't that familiar.

Or C) As we've seen already on this page from posters like NM Design (sorry mate) and throughout this whole website, the reason for the change could be because people are wrongly calling Blades XBlades. The X logo is just like Nikes swoosh/ tick. Nobody calles Nike TickNike. I think that's why they are changing the logo to the word "Blades" so that people realise that Blades is it's actual name and begin to call it that. It is not XBlades!

NMD, what I do with the logos is you fill the background of the simplified logos whatever colour you're putting the logo on on the guernsey. In this case you'd fill the Mazda background blue. Then paste it into word, make it smaller, and paste it onto the guernsey. There might be a white outline around it, so then quickly fill that, and move it to the guernsey. Try it, you might like it, or you won't. Hope this helps getting cleaner logos
