Really should just stick to their current main kit, pair it with change shorts and/or socks for certain games when they're away, and come up with a decent effort of an alternate kit for matches against ADE, GWS, etc of classic white with brown and gold trim which only needs minimal updates every 2nd year for merchandising like what is done already with the main jersey.
Let me know when gold starts clashing with navy :p

"inspired by a modern graphic"
what the hell does that even mean
It's the same as the Port 2007 clash.

It's a generic design sitting in a drawer somewhere in Adidas HQ that they've wheeled out for a clash.

Watch an Adidas soccer club use a similar design for a training shirt next season.

But Navy and gold DO clash. They're not similar at all. ;)

But with those two jumpers, the issue is the mish mash of similar colours on the front of ADE jumper with Hawthorn's colours.
Still don't see it. One is majorly navy with a bit of gold, one is majorly gold with a bit of brown. Next we'll need clash tops in Carlton v Geelong games coz both teams have navy and white.

I don't have any trouble at all telling the difference between the two. I don't remember having trouble before Hawthorn started wearing white away either.

I quote like it whenever I look at it, and then I remember it's actually going to be worn for a minimum of the next 2 years, in actual AFL level games...

I can't get over these stupid shapes with random gradients going through them, they just have no thought put into them at all. The pattern on the yoke seems to be a thousand little rectangles of gold to brown gradients ontop of a bigger gold to white gradient, I don't think there's ever been this many gradients on one guernsey.

One interesting thing though, it seems to be the only Adidas collar without piping on the top.

The sponsors will be happy with this type of jumper. It's the only way of knowing which bloody club we're looking at.
It's crap. Hawthorn and adidas should be ashamed.

The mish mash between Geelong and Carlton is greatly avoided if Geelong are predominantly in white and Carlton in full navy blue kits.

The AFL have made a good call with the ADE vs HAW match up, IMO.

I have a feeling the design may be intended to represent a feather pattern, like on a hawks back. And the vee is a traditional Hawthorn design.

I'd like it better if it were matte colors rather than metallics, but there you go.

We need to give it a name.

I propose the 'poo-drop'. Poo because it's brown, and drop because it looks like tear drops. 'Poo-drop' sounds derogatory and, well, shitty, which is the point.

And Adelaide-Hawthorn is fine if one is in predominantly-navy and one in predominantly-gold.

ADE isn't predominantly navy from the front. The top of the jumper is a navy block but a large proportion has a similarity of colours to HAW, particularly with a it's hooped design and reddish-orange and gold together in a large band which blends with the hawks striped jumper.

GEE vs CAR features a stripes vs solids kit set up. It's not unlike Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid who both have white in their kits, but the solid vs stripes effect and different shorts differentiates them very effectively.

We're just going to disagree on this one.
