I tipped this two years ago! And yes, the monogram is way too big. My theory on why, though, is that they are afraid the jumper would look too similar to Carlton, if the monogram was Carlton-sized. I also still think that on the white clash, the monogram should be red, not navy. A red monogram has more of a Melbourne feel.

I am glad they are using the monogram, (the New Era caps look great) but I don't think there was anything wrong with the old MFC monogram. This new, sanitised one looks alright at small scales but does not work so well at larger scales as shown on the clash...

International rules tops same as last years I assume? I do wish they played in real, sleeveless/long sleeved footy jumpers.

They'll want to push this monogram a lot, and fair enough, but man they're still executing it in the most boring way possible. Those clashes suck.

Carlton's all white worked because it was a direct inverse. Everyone knew the original jumper, the fact a white clash works best, and it was tidy and sensical. These Dees ones just suck. The collars and (pointless) sidepanels and trimmings are confusing and naff, so the whole jumper just looks like a training design. Plus, yeah, the monogram is too big and seems like they forgot all jumpers have AFL and sponsor logos.

Although I reckon a total inverse of their home jumper would be a bold 'alternate' jumper, it won't happen now.

So, why don't the Demons concentrate on the monogram but make the jumper work around it. There's a million ways to integrate simple, traditional designs when all you're dealing with is a white base and a navy monogram. They could really start a classic run of away strips, white with the monogram, while just changing the background and smaller details. Please, do it.

That's great – with navy numbers outlined in red (or vice versa) it would look a lot less 'Sydney'.

The white cuffs are definitely one of the major factors for making it seem like a training guernsey. If there were navy cuffs, it would definitely look like a stronger design with the red sidepanels.
