Going from those images the St Kilda home jumper's white panel has been thinned back to what it was pre-2020 (no real overlap from the AFL or Deliveroo logos - the Deliveroo logo might be a little smaller going from its text placement to the sides of the logo).

There is absolutely no reason for the club crest to be that low. There is more than enough room to put it above the sponsor logo, or move them both up. It's such an integral part of the clubs identity, and New Balance are treating it like garbage. Whoever at the club has signed off on this range needs a stern talking to.

Puma is the third largest sport manufacturer in the world. They could sponsor the entire league for life, and it would only be a blip in their overall income. It's interesting to see the change in approach to these big brands though. 3-4 years ago, we were facing a league with no puma, no addidas and no nike. Now look where we are.
Under Armour is technically the 3rd largest behind Nike and Adidas, but yeah these companies could support every AFL team if they wanted to.

Be nothing to do with NB, they would be working on a brief from the club and following AFL guidelines regarding logo placement. They would do the artwork and then the Saints would approve it. As for the grayscale logo, yeah I’ve got no idea why they’ve done that. I think the training gear looks smart but that ain’t the club logo.

Posted this in here few weeks back, but worth bringing this up again. Theres a new design for GWS in the Sekem 2021 catalogue.

Immediately thought of this when I read that part of the press release. I feel like this design isn't an accident and I'd be pretty certain this will be a new home jumper. I wonder if they want a streamlined look and have colour swaps of this design for away and/or clash jumpers. I don't see the design as strong as the previous home, but I could see the club wanting the big G more front and centre.

Club crests placed below the sponsor all look odd, above doesn't look much better. Clubs should either stop whoring that space and place the club crest over the players heart of just go full brothel and sell that space to the highest bidder.

The Saints placing the crest over the kidney is sort of lost on me.

The giant G shouldn't be white, either. That's the first thing I'd change.
I disagree, I think the white 'G' balances out the design quite well.
However I wouldn't be completely opposed to them dropping the colour white if it is done well.

I think it's more that from a branding point of view, it would be better for them to have their main identifying feature (big G) in their main identifying colour (orange).

Then again, the Old Dark Navy Blues have been doing fine with their white monogram for a bazillion years.

The 3 colours are decent but only in combination when orange is the lesser used of the 3. You don't use a colour like orange as the primary when you have charcoal and white imo it looks unbalanced.

Having orange as the main colour on the back but using it sparingly on the front is what makes the jumper unbalanced. And the positioning of the logo, too. Doesn't seem like balance was ever really a goal of the design.

The least they could do is add a grey panel with white numbers.

I haven't been back through the thread that far so apologies if it's been mentioned.

I work at Rebel and the new Sydney gear has just arrived in store. Looks nice with the Nike tick on it. One striking feature is the basketball jersey style material. It's incredibly noticeable in person and looks very breathable.

Orange back has grown on me tbh, feels uniquely GWS.
It's shit from a clash POV, the front of the jumper is dark but the back is light. Normally they have an average manufacturer as well, so it is a crappy muted orange too which doesn't help, hopefully puma can make it more vibrant.

I don't mind the white, but their best jumper had no white in it. Charcoal with orange accents looks superb.

Never liked the GWS Guernsey. Always reminded me of a Hi Vis/worksite shirt. Annoys me even more now that country teams have adopted their uniforms.
Especially when they've ditched their identities that they've had for decades and decades but then sell themselves out.

I mean it's good exposure for the Giants, but seriously.

Then again, how many clubs have changed their names to match the Gold Coast in the same timeframe?

Their baby blue training jumper was the best they’ve had, although this may be equal to it
Do you think GWS missed an marketing and membership opportunity when choosing their colours ? Maybe if they'd chosen the Baby Blue and Navy Blue colours normally worn by NSW state sporting teams it could've galvanised a lot of new interest in Sydney's western suburbs and fringes in AFL and possibly bigger memberships to the Giants.

Orange isn’t to bad but there are enough teams with black so I’m not sure why they picked charcoal. I’m not too sure as I don’t agree with the location choice to start with. The use of their current colours has been terrible
